Liked the game. Was curious to see how it will end, and though finale is minimalistic, it didn't disappoint.

Puzzle is a bit too hard for my taste in the year 4180, everything just changes too fast.

I agree now that you mention it, definitely need to slow down the pacing. Thanks so much for the feedback!

Very cool game.  The presentation was done really well, especially with the warp special effects.  The atmosphere was also very ominous as the ship started breaking more and more.  One thing I want to note, the constellation puzzles when you could no longer see the monitor to match lost me a little bit on the gameplay side of things.  Instead of trying to match, it just became "move the map around until it clicks" which wasn't my favorite part.

Thanks so much for the compliments and for the feedback! I can happily say that there is actually a way to solve the final 2 puzzles without guessing, however I clearly need to do a better job at hinting that as you are far from the only one to struggle there.

It could be a great addition to the next Love Death and Robots season. It's simply engaging!

Developer

Hahaaa! Love that show. Thanks for playing!

I really love this game, all of you who worked on this did a really great job! The music and ambience each did their part in setting the mood. In terms of the puzzles, I like how the game makes the player think outside the box by using another way to match the constellations. I like how each file shows a progression that something wrong was happening to the ship and the ending was open ended to let players think of what happened.

I wanna tell more people about your game guys!

I don't really have much complaints actually, controls were simple and other things.

Your compliments make us feel quite proud. Thanks for playing!

Nice work on this game.  For starters, I really liked your music and sound effects.  I paused on the start screen just to listen to the music, and I loved the Twin Peaks Intro/Theme vibes on the reawakening.  The sound effects were also great -- I actually got a shiver when the creature ran from side to side near the end.  You used a limited world but did the art for the world well -- the matching screen was really nice, and the warping and mid-warp exteriors were very cool.

I didn't read any comments on the game until after I finished it, so I thought it would be useful feedback for you to know that I did figure out how to solve the puzzle (without guessing) after the shutter failed.

Nice job on this!

Thats a huge relief lol. Thanks for playing and thanks so much for the feedback!

The atmosphere is good and the game really captures the horror of watching everything breakdown around you while there's nothing you can do to stop it. I think only the final section should have had the player solve the puzzle blind, since this subversion of the usual schedule is really only effective narratively and hampers gameplay. The first blind puzzle with the large planet was probably the fairest of the two because the landmark made it simpler to try out different positions. Overall this is a fun and unique game.

Excellent presentation, dripping with delicious game juice (lighting, screenshake, color shifts, sound effects, etc.). I also like the main character's visual design and animation. The music is also very soothing and pleasant (just what I would want if I were to sleep 60 years in a row :) ). The gradual deterioration of the ship is presented beautifully.

I also appreciate how the challenge of the constellation matching increases gently, but perceptibly. (I resisted the temptation to use the cheat code until the last challenge in the scene where the shutters had failed--at that point I was flailing around randomly.) All in all, there is tremendous attention to quality and detail.

I found myself wishing for something more than the stasis routine. I think that even a bit of spoken or written narration during the stasis segments (discussing a dream? discussing the traveler's history or future goals?) would have helped. Notwithstanding, I found the ending moving and sad.

Also, note one typo: It should be "stasis chamber" (not "champer").

Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback! I also really like the idea of having dialog. I was even considering having an AI on the ship (similar to Hal and Dave from A Space Odyssey) that the player would talk to to feed the player some backstory, but didn't because that would obviously take a ton of time. But you've made me consider continuing this game further. Also, nice catch with the embarrassing typo. 😳

Yes, if you do decide to add words, there shouldn't be too many of them. The atmosphere is too eloquent to interrupt.

But just a few words could go a long way.

I like the mystery of the game. The art and music was good too. I didn't really know how I was supposed to solve the puzzles, maybe I missed something? But I just wandered around the screen aimlessly till I completed them. It was still a fun game though!

Maybe you could check out my game if you have time?

Developer(+1)

This is my greatest fear as a developer lol. Perhaps a hint if you want to give it another try: You need to match the stars in the bottom to look like the stars in the window.

As for your game, it looks fun! I will 100% check it out by this weekend.

Thanks for the hint! I'll have to replay it and try again :)

I replayed it, and I just noticed the text on the puzzle screen that tells you what to do. I'm sorry, I don't know why I didn't see that the first time.

Developer(+1)

NO! I added that after you mentioned you're confusion, so your feedback actually helped improve the game!

For the sake of saving you time, I've added a cheat button. If you are short on time, or just bored of the repetitive puzzles, press 1 on your keyboard to automatically solve!
