How long was your dev time?
4.5 hours :( I really should learn from my mistakes and plan better.

Lovely music, and the clunky controls are oddly fitting and add to the charm ( and challenge!). All the visual effects are really great, the "solar wind" debris being my favorite.

You might consider locking the mouse to the center of the screen to allow the player to rotate the camera freely indefinitely, and toggling it with Escape.

Nevertheless, I'd be pretty proud of myself for accomplishing this in 4.5 hours, and you should too.
Very well done. Good luck! :D

Developer

Thanks a lot! I haven't heard such positive feedback for a long time.

(Actually I set the mouse locked in the center and hidden, the browser refused to accept it and didn't lock it in center 🤷‍♂️ Probably there's some workaround, the standard way doesn't work though.)

With aesthetics like these, you've earned it! :D

(Ah well, I'm outta ideas. #Just[insert_engine]Things I suppose. Unless...Controller support! *Scope creep intensifies*)

The music is giving me Harry Potter vibes haha. But great game, a little bit hard to control maybe.

Developer(+1)

Harry Potter vibes xD

Yes, controlling the rocketship is pretty difficult... I tried to make it as easy as possible, probably it can't be made much easier, as a real rocket would be difficult to control as well 🤷‍♂️ Who knows. Thanks for playing!

Yeah, I totally understand that movement in a 3d space is really difficult. Sometimes the ship was spinning and I had a hard time trying to stop it from spinning again, so maybe an angular velocity brake button would already solve that issue?

Developer(+1)

Angular velocity stop button, that's a good idea💡

I thought it's enough to make the angular drag big enough (but it shouldn't be there either, as it's in space 😁) – like, it should have be enough to stop pressing anything and the ship would stop rotating, but if you still had problems with that, that means my solution wasn't enough. Good idea with the braking.

Maybe I was just too dumb to stop trying to countersteer haha

Unfortunately two of us just couldn't get this to load on a Mac in either Safari or Firefox

Developer

Thanks for the feedback 🤔 I don't know what to do with that though... I guess it's because I use GLES3 renderer which is better but not recommend for web. Maybe I could make a downloadable executable Mac version, I guess it would be very difficult though. Or I can make a GLES2 version which should run without problems, but that would require making another project on itch.

I really like the physics.

Visuals and sounds are pretty great too.

Congratulations !

Developer

Thank you very much!

This game is ridiculous. I love it. I feel like I get the same feelings playing this as I get with "Getting Over It". Very well done.

Developer

Thanks a lot! I didn't play Getting Over It, but I see it's "a punishing climbing game", interesting... I think I see the connection :D
