It's a great game for 3 hours but player going up/down is slow

Fun game! I love the idea and I think you executed this game very well. The only major detail I see to improve is that the player sprite glitches when touching the left side of the screen. Great game!

Developer

Hmm, I've not seen that glitch. Thanks for playing!

It only happens every once in a while, and isn't too big of a problem.

Very cute, and it works well

Really cute art style and the choice of music fits really well! My score was 47

Developer

Nice! I didn’t have much time to play test. I’m wondering if I should have increased your acceleration or speed as well to let you move faster. At some point the screen scrolls faster than your max speed so you’re left with just going up and down.

I really like the music. also I wonder how did you do it that one part of the hole is behind the player and the other in front so it really looks like he is passing through. is the wall actually two pieces?

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The music is actually from OpenGameArt.org so I can’t take credit for it. I can add the link to game page.

To make the hole appear 3D, I change the layer order when the player is half way through so that it changes from behind the player to on top. In Godot it’s called the z-index.

I like the visuals and the sfx are also very nice.

Thanks! Looking forward to playing all of the other games.
