I enjoyed this submission. A simple concept that is well presented, with good use of music and sound effects.
Thanks for playing! Glad, you enjoyed it
Enjoyable and fits the theme very well, I did ran out of patience though…
Other than that, it kind of doesn’t feel right that the game doesn’t use up the whole screen and that it doesn’t recognize mousepad taps unless if you click it hard enough.
Yes, unfortunately, GameMaker’s capabilities of doing “full screen” in the html5 runtime are somewhat limited. i need to resize by hand when i detect window size change. and as everybody has different height of windows taskbar or browser-tabs (favorite bar or not) i am a bit limited in resizing when i want to keep the aspect ratio.
If you play on mobile, the button clicks need to be launched via double-tap. not sure about pad-tapping, i don’t own one
fun game. the whole animation is great, levels are going so smoothly.
Thanks! Glad you had fun. Did you make it to the garage?
I got stuck on the third traffic.jam. do you instantiate the roads with traffic or each level are premade manually ?
they are premade - a bit math for the light-patterns (i know, how long u must wait to get through)
in 3 hours there was not enough time to develop a dynamic level generation algorithm that also invents a pattern that is always solvable.
it’s a coding experiment, where i now have a base at hand – if i want to reuse this at some point in the future (maybe as a minigame in some bigger project), i can come back to the code of this submission.
tbh, that’s what i do with all my trijam-submissions (it’s my 8th now i believe) – they all have the potential to become a minigame in a big project one day – some of them might even be doable standalone, maybe as a mobile game.
wow… just looked it up.. it’s my 10th trijam this week oO… sooo many minigames… wow
I' ll check your game.
Love the idea. The time when I felt the most fun was when the car just barely make it through the traffic. :D
Yeah! Love the moment when traffic light already is yellow and you slip through sharply! Makes me happy if the game raised positive emotions!
I like the idea. I actually really enjoyed crashing, it felt satisfying. Maybe it was the screen shake? I wish the stop light was in sync with the cars though. Good entry!
Thanks! I must say, I also caught myself crashing happily into other cars:) I understand the fun^^
Very nice! Good amount of polish. Love the music! I got to the garage!
Thanks! Great you liked it! I see, you made it with your last try – perfect! :D
Very good idea!
Thanks! - did u make it to the garage?
