My only “gripe” with this is the absence of some kind of indication for which log is the nearest to me, and also, sometimes I feel like the detection of me holding the button didn’t really go through, not sure why that would happen.

Otherwise, neat idea, I don’t think I saw something like this at the jam yet! Well done!

This game has really cool concept, I think it could be used in a bigger game as a core mechanic. Right now I can think of some space game where you could explore this way and it could be interesting to try making a combat with this kind of movement.
