Good job ! Very cute drawing and it's a fun little game. Hope you had fun during the jam.

Nice idea! Good job on making the game in less than 3 hours.
As mentioned by others it's very difficult :-) Maybe with less possible colour it's would be easier (and adding more colour during after some times).
Maybe also adding a UI element to show the colour order would help, so you know how many "clicks" are needed to match the incoming enemy.
Congratulations on your game, it's a nice submission. I like it and fit well the theme. The game looks nice! The backgrounds and music are very impressive, especially done in 3 hours!
Regarding the gameplay, I would maybe apply potions by clicking on them directly, I was confused on my first run. I would also put them in the same order as the warrior stats.
You can also increase your stats very high, have you thought about adding a limit to your stats?
I was looking forward to test you game, I saw you streaming during the development!
And I'm not disappointed :D! You managed to make a complex and deep game, yet simple, following the "1 button" theme of the jam.
I liked the mix of your sprites and pico-8 symbols, it looks nice. The SFX are nice too!
I just have a small bug at the end of the fight, I can't restart the game (either if I win or lose), I have to refresh the page.
Also, have you considered changing the Movepool during the fight? After a certain time or number of uses of a single ability?
Congratulations on your game, well done in just two hours!
Nice idea to adapt this type of shooter to a single button, it works very well.
You even managed to add particle effects that look very nice. I also really liked the "noise" (I don't know how to call it?) effect, it looks very nice and fits the game's atmosphere and story.
It is also cool that you have added different points depending on the size of the asteroid, which adds to the gameplay as you have to think about which one to shoot.
Congratulations on your submission, it's a very nice take on this kind of "endless running" game!
It works very well and I love the drawings and the running animation. The SFX and ambience sound are also a nice addition.
I would just add an image for the player health and number of laps, I was a bit confused by the two numbers at the top. Otherwise very solid! As mentioned below, this was a resolution issue that has been fixed.
Thank for your kind words!
Well, Pico-8 is the only engine I use, so I can't really compare it to others. But I would describe it as a simple but complete game engine.
Because it's simple, it's quite easy to learn, you basically have 5 tabs and you can do everything with it, which is very cool! You are not overwhelmed with features, menus and so on. Which I think is nice when you start learning game development.
The programming language is Lua, which is quite clean and easy to learn, especially if you already know another language like Python, JS.
As the name implies, Pico-8 is for 8bit like games, so you will have some limitations when making your game.
All in all, it's good for prototype/game jam games and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Thank you for your kind words and feedback!
Regarding the scoring system. At first I wanted to have a classic life system instead of a score (like you start with 3 lives, if you get hit you lose one, and game over if you lose all your lives). But since it's a game jam, I wanted people who play my game to be able to see all the levels without dying.
So I removed the life system and implemented this scoring system. The scoring system works like this: Your score increases when you kill an enemy, a boss or when you complete a level. If you get hit, you lose 10 points. The maximum score should be around 180-185.
You are right, I did not think about it, but I should add a +/- score pop up, as you say, close to the character or maybe on the top right, close to the score?
I'm thinking of updating my game after the jam and if I do I will definitely implement that.
Hello fellow Pico-8 user!
Congratulations on your game, it's a very fun puzzle game! You've done an amazing job and I'm impressed by the number of levels you've been able to design!
I would only suggest you expand your project page a bit to add information on how the day/night cycle works!
I hope you had a lot of fun developing your game.
Congratulations on your game! It's a very nice action/platformer game and I'm a big fan of the aesthetics/music, beautiful and very polished.
If I had to suggest an improvement, I would suggest making it a bit easier, like with more player life or some way to regenerate your health. Also some platforming phases were very punishing like the one on the screen below, like if you fall you have to restart from the beginning.

But anyway, very good job again, congratulations to your team.
Good job on your game, it's very nice!
I liked the combat system and the possibility to interact with things with the wand!
I would suggest to add to your game page the controls of your game (I did not understand how to hit enemies without mana, it was not mentioned that I had to press E). I would also mention that it should be played in full screen, otherwise you can't see the HUD.
