  • I enjoyed this immensely. It was well designed and intentional. I would have liked to have seen a score counter and a game over screen with a simple high score/highest score displayed. I enjoyed the game and only encountered one notable bug - that being if you spam attacked the enemy would flash and then not be defeated. This has great potential and is phenomenal for a gamejam. I hope to see this hit a full release!

Feedback

  • Nice visuals
  • Cool idea
  • The mechanics need some polish, attacks with cooldown per row, not just spamming
  • To scale the game, I think there need to be some additional mechanics
    • I'm thinking of differnt musical attacks or bombs or skills or something.
    • Which in the end would be a flamming rock'n'roll ultimate kinda thing :)
  • Levels progression and different enemies?
  • Maybe all the visuals a bit small to fit more into the screen, to have more of the "track" being played visible?

The game is simple, charming, and well-polished. I’d like more enemies with higher resilience. The background music is immersive, but the attack sounds are cacophonous. Also, when the enemies hit you, there’s no feedback, and the game freezes... I hope you can adjust this!

Note: I couldn’t play on Playdate due to a missing file, so I used the simulator.

Looks really cool, but sadly I get a "The bundleID field is missing from pdxinfo." message when I try to sideload this via the account sideload page?
