How does your game utilize the limitation and theme?
The focus of collectables is implemented through the collection of THE GEM, but in reality you actually collect Light for your torch (and some gems). We utilized the theme by forcing the you to go back to previouosly visited campfires to relight your torch, or die in the darkness. And something else, if you manage to finish the maze.
What was your team size?
You and 2-3 other jammers
Which of the following content in your game is NOT 100% newly made for the jam?
Affirm you have followed ALL jam rules. (Select all below or your entry will be disqualified.)
If your game includes any of the optional challenges, select them below:
Use a theme and/or limitation from one of the past 8 Bits to Infinity jams in addition to the main theme
If you did any of the optional challenges, explain how they were used:
We tried to incorporate Darkness, since you depend on light, and the game is over when you remain in the dark for too long.
Also we have No Enemies, as there is no combat. Only exploration and collecting light and gems.

Great looking game. The visuals, sfx, audio and music are really good. For the gameplay, I would make the light go out a little slower, and the starting radius a bit wider, the game felt a little bit too difficult for me.
Maybe implement a limited consumable of some kind that resets the light to full ? That would give the player another chance to avoid game over. Because, when you find yourself completely lost, the lights dimming, you basically have no chance. Which might be intended, so I don't know if that idea would work with the concept of the game^^
Anyway, great job overall :)
The art drew me to this because it was so cute! The torch lighting SFX made me laugh out loud - I love it!
Overall, it was nice and I had fun. A few small critiques:
I would have liked to have some type of progress indicator. I got to around 19 gems and sort of just quit because I didn't know how much more I needed to collect, had no idea where I had not yet explored (Personally, I really wanted a minimap), and I was getting tired.
Also, the torch light dimmed a bit too fast compared to the light meter. You were essentially already blind long before the meter ran out.
Thank you for taking the time to test our little gem.
Yeah, I forgot to fix the light meter unfortunately.
You can use TAB to zoom out :)
Ah-ha! I'll try that next time, thanks! =)
Lol, my game is also called Lights Out hahahah
Your game is really nice! Good job 5/5
cool game!
Hope you can check my game and give me some feedback too!
Very cool! I liked the aesthetic and the music and thought it was a fitting implementation of the theme too. Well done :)
Fun game. Like the way you've varied the walls to help you know where you are. Nice use of the theme too. Didn't get far but wasn't forced to go back as often as I expect. I could normally push on to the next fire. Nicely done :)
Really cute and relaxing labyrinth game. A good use of the theme - having to go there and back to keep your torch lit! I loved the lighting effects and the artwork is beautiful. It has a "Don't Starve" vibe (with less stress, of course). All around well done.
If you have a moment to spare please check out our game :)
Sounds are great. Whoosh. I love the art style and gameplay too. I callected 9 gems, and i wonder how many of them left. Great work.
Very cool game! Lighting effects are really well done. I love that it's basically a big labyrinth where you have to remember the path. Check my game out if you get a chance!
