The healing on the edge mechanic is neat! Mixes up the gameplay. I like how you choose when to do it, and also the risk/reward of dodging in that small area. Bosses were varied and neat. The final boss's artwork felt epic! I appreciate the very-easy difficulty in terms of health and ammo, haha. I like the hyperspace transition between areas - feels epic! The scrolling backgrounds in general though made it hard to see things, and were a little motion sickness inducing.

Thanks for the nice comments! The whole team worked really hard to get this all together so it's great that you enjoyed it! I think for any future version or amends we will have a look at the scrolling backgrounds as a point to tweak.

fun, bosses were good. restarting levels without your extra ammo kinda led to a difficult spiral. the health lanes didn't seem that great to me, i thought they'd create a lane where along my trajectory, but i guess it was meant to be "on the edge", but that didn't feel great.

Nice game, cool graphics and interesting game play. I like how you have different weapons to have fun with. I was hoping you can actually break enemy ammo with you own ammo. Bosses were fun and kinda epic with the all the bullet storms. You have cool warps here added too. This would be fun while 2 players are able to play at the same time. It's more fun and tactical while players and play as a one team and collaborating with the pickups and weapon use tactics.

fun game although you cant really shoot the enemy without getting hit because they are always shooting and you have to be under them too shoot might want to fix that but good game well done

I love the amount of content you have and the variety in bosses. The item drops felt good too! Overall I think it's well done and doesn't need much polishing.

I came back to this after playing it a couple times, and I was surprised to find that I was able to manage the difficulty really well and beat it without dying! I think it might have been because once I got the hang of the controls, I was able to keep alive alright earlier on and rack up coins, and dying in late-game really sets you back since it's harder to afford health jets. It can be really punishing to lose all your coins near the end.

I like the retro aesthetic, the patterns of enemy shooting were fun, and I also really appreciated that the enemies had larger hitboxes than the player, although it made it difficult to pick up coins sometimes because the player sprite could be fully covering the coin, but wouldn't pick it up unless it was centered just right.

Overall, a fun bullet hell!

Fun little game, appreicated the mixture of 3d and 2d, you stuck to the theme and i didn't encounter any bugs! so good job!

Note: Idk if it was just the web version or just me? But the background was moving at like lightning speed and made me feel a little sick, I persevered though! Thanks for the fun!

Here's a couple of things you could do with your game:

  • Give more opportunities to rest and heal. Sure, they exist here, but they're WAAAAAAY too short.
  • Polish up the graphics a little. I know it looks like it's based on the classic shoot-em-ups, but there's some white stuff around the edges.
  • If you're willing to go heavy on the bullets, let the player too go heavy on the bullets. Give more bullet stock, and more bullet loot.

Thanks for playing and hope you enjoyed it!

There's certainly room for improvement post jam. I think spacing out the rest points and more weapon variety so that the player can shoot more bullets like the enemies, are definitely things we would look into if there were more time.
