Super cute game with lots of polish! I really enjoyed the animation of the party ghost in particular. Ended up beating the game with a score of 37...not sure if thats any good? For some reason it was zoomed in too far in the html version and i couldn't see the text. Downloading the windows build solved that problem thankfully. Great job!
Thank you for the positive comments and really glad you liked our game! That is a good score! I think some high score might be a good extension to this post jam to help give a better idea of how well you did. Also yes for some reason the web version did have some issues with the aspect ratio which we couldn't fix during the jam but glad you managed to enjoy the Windows build!
I found this game to be quite cute and fun to play. The music was very fitting.
Our composer did a great job; thank you so much for your comments and for playing!
Ah thank you so much! ^_^ I scored the music; it put a smile on my face to hear that it has fit!
Fun theme, sounds like it's out of a children's book. Took me a bit to figure out the controls. I wish I could see the status of all houses without mousing over, but I do appreciate the idea of frantically mousing over houses to see their status. Did not understand what the party ghosts did, but if you had to keep your ghosts away from them, that's a nice thing to manage alongside haunting the houses. Wish there was more depth to the mechanics (at least that I could discover) but I had fun imagining these ghosts were actually haunting tons of houses, and dealing with ghostly logistics.
Thank you for your feedback! You touch on a lot of things we wished we had more time for, but I'm glad you were still able to have fun with the idea!
Ghost employee is a QT
Thank you! They're just a stressed bean who deserves better, haha.
Great art and atmosphere, really loved this. The slow ramp up in difficulty as well was nice, helped to not get overwhelmed all at once. Only thing I found was sometimes the ghosts would linger on top of houses and not able to be selected, other than that great job!
Thanks for giving our game a shot and for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
I really really like the art style guys, its awesome. The game oozes charm, all the art/animations and dialog are fantastic. Congrats to everyone!
Thank you so much! That's really nice to hear. Congrats to you, too!
I were not able to play on web-player because the game were too widely stretched. I scale the browser page manually to get access to play.
This game look interesting, is fun and has good graphics and music! All good, except the idea, which i did not get. First i though i had to move ghosts by selecting one and hold the mouse button to order them. I had no idea either how to control the partying ghosts; i though i should avoid them from normal ghosts. Also clicking each build to see those situation (there were like 30 houses too soon to see). Also ghosts appear too soon on the screen while they could "born" first.
This has good elements and also includes the dialog, while i had no time to read it while i had to move ghosts all time faster and faster.
Thanks so much for your feedback! You touched on a lot of things we hoped to improve with more time, but I'm glad you were still able to enjoy it!
i've been ghosted -_-
fun game i liked the ideas and the puns lmao good job
Glad you enjoyed it! Our programmer had a second pass on the script and dropped those great puns, so good to know you liked them!
i've never haunted so many houses in my life! i loved the theming and halloween vibes. it did feel a little overwhelming when the screen expanded to its biggest size, but i still enjoyed shuffling the ghosts around to different houses. i do wish that i didn't have to click to see how many ghosts were currently in a house! personally would have preferred to just have that info displayed if there was more than one ghost there.
also on the options menu i LOVED the ghost clipboard. such a freaking cool clipboard!!!!
Thank you for playing and glad you enjoyed it! The art and music were areas that the team worked really hard on (as well as the fantastic programming), so glad you had fun with it.
There's definitely things we can improve on like you say, maybe we can put out a post jam version with these tweaks.
Thank you for your comments! It makes me so happy that you appreciate the ghost clipboard, hahaha. It was a little brain blast moment for me when I was drawing the board and was just like, "It could be a ghost!!"
I like the feel of this game and the art is great. I couldnt see the HUD at the top though so I wasn't sure if I was missing something. But I love the way the map backs out as you go
Thanks for playing! I hadn't run into the HUD layer bug! I'll make sure we look into it post-jam :)
Thanks for the feedback!
Loved the visuals and music and had an interesting mechanic. I thought it was very cool how the map expanded, the care you put into the tutorial, and the puns were cool too. My feedback is that sometimes the gauge at the top covered the houses so it was a little bit hard to see what was going on. Nice work :)
Thanks for playing! and thank you for the feedback! That's super interesting, i didn't run into layer issues during testing, I'll add that to our bug list! Thanks a lot!
This game was so fun! I love the music and the ghost puns, and the game is really well made. I think a few extra haunting sound effects would go a long way, as well as sound effects to let you know you lost health because that caught me off guard. Overall, great job!
Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, sound effects are definitely on our todo list, unfortunately we ran out of time to hunt them down and add them in, but we'll make sure we get something done in the post-jam release :)
Oh my goodness, I'm so obsessed with this game! Really awesome concept, and super fun to play!
I love it!
There are a few small pieces of polish that I think would really bring it together (having some indicators that a house is currently being haunted at a glance, clicking and dragging the ghosts, etc etc) but overall I love this experience! With a couple more maps and a little more polish, I'd totally pay full price for this game! Love it, love it! :D
Wow, thanks so much for the feedback! Thank you for the suggestions, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :D
oh that's so cute! our ghost is adorable i feel so much for them ♥
all the puns made me laugh ahahah, great job!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like our game. :)
Our poor player ghost just needs some rest, haha.
Very solid game. Keeping up with all the houses haunted can be daunting near the end but that is of course the idea of the game. The graphics and music are very good. Sometimes ghosts wouldn't move to I house I clicked no matter how many times I clicked. One of the things I would recommend is that there be a visual cue if a house is currently being haunted. And perhaps being able to select multiple ghosts at once to haunt a house would be nice.
The boss character was very cool looking.
Thank you so much for the review! I had a lot of fun with the boss's character design, so I'm glad you like it. :)
Those are some great suggestions! There were definitely things we might have polished with more time.
I absolutely love the music and the puns. The art is also great!
I'm not really a fan of this style of rushing-to-click-everything, but stuck with it for the music alone :)
There were a few technical issues with the web build, where ghosts seemed to get stuck and some clicks didn't register, but nothing major.
Great job!
Thanks for playing! You're right, the music and art were fantastic, I'm super grateful to the team for the work put in :)
The presentation is just amazing! The art is clean, the Tim Burton's style music is great, and the character are really charming.
It's an impressive result for a week jam.
I had to download the .exe version cuz the web one didn't scale properly in my pc, but that's a minor problem.
Congrats! Hope you get a real high score!
Thank you for the feedback! and for playing!
The web build was a last minute ditch effort and I'll have to work out the quirks of the web build scaling issues, but I'm grateful it was interesting enough to download an executable :)
The art and music was fantastic. I am not the greatest fan of these kind of stress games, and in the later stages it was impossible to make sure all the houses were haunted. Which I thought was the goal of the game, yet failing to haunt a house didn't seem to cost me any life, and I succeeded in my first game. It was... a weird experience.
There were some issues. The HTML5 version seems to not scale correctly with my screen resolution, making the game unplayable. Luckily the Windows version worked. Also in the game, sometimes a ghost would get "stuck" on a hauntable house, because if I clicked the ghost, it instead showed my haunt progress. Also, the movement of the ghosts were a bit inconsistent, and I sometimes had to instruct multiple times before one would move. But those issues were minor things.
Thank you for playing! and the feedback!
There were definitely areas we would like to improve, but alass! time limited game jams!
