Very cool zombie shooter! Gun was fun to shoot and I loved the anxiety created!

If you find some time this weekend, please check out our game “Starship Minis” and leave a comment to let us know what you think! https://itch.io/jam/vr-jam-2021/rate/1145490

Thanks and congrats on completing the jam!!

Sorry to hear that your original project got deleted somehow during the jam! That must have been one hell of a hurdle to get over, and I think it's fair to say most people would have given up at that point so hats off for you getting something in on time!

My thoughts are similar to many of the mentions below; increased variety, sound of the gun, sound of the zombies (as it's pretty terrifying to turn around to a zombie you have no idea is there haha) and some kind of more linear progression would certainly add a lot. :)

That said, shooting things in VR is always pretty satisfying isn't it.

This is a good base to build from. The mechanics are working as intended, but I'd love to see some tweaks to enemy variety, audio and effects. Clearly defining level progression with new enemies, different light intensity, and more incorporation of theme mechanics would make the game feel more cohesive.

Developer

Yeah i wanted to add in so much more but everything that could've went wrong, went wrong ended up having to redo all of the project because everything got deleted somehow, so that was almost a days work i could've spent adding in alot more. Thanks for the feedback.

I think we've all been there. Even Toy Story 2 was deleted entirely, but luckily the Tech Director had a saved copy on her home computer. It might be useful to look into some type of version control. Something like Git, Unity Teams, or even backing up on a spare external hard drive can be a life saver!

Would be nice to add flying enemies that are harder to aim at, or fast moving small enemies to add to the challenge. But overall I liked playing it :)

Developer

That's a really good idea. Thanks for the feedback, im glad you liked it.

Good start! It would be interesting to see the zombies replaced with a different type of enemy that worked with the scaling mechanic.

Developer

Thank you,  I really don't know why i didn't think about that. Thanks for the feedback.

I also got like 50 something kills and it went dark. I wish I could see the bullets or some kind of target reticle, I was just kind of holding down the button and clicking randomly to move around the scene. It was kind of hard to tell the walls were closing in on me. Maybe some more geometry or something that showed that it was a small world, and not just walls closing in on me with zombies. Maybe giant lego enemies or something to give the feel of it being a small world.

I managed to get 50 kills and I went into the night/torch. I saw that the world border were shrinking. It would be nice if there were rag doll deaths to zombies and sound from the zombie and background ambiance.

Developer

Yeah, I tried to add sound when they die but for some reason it wasnt working. Thanks for the feedback
