LOL the creatures are so cute :D I honestly loved this game so much! :D I totally see it being polished and released!
Woop! :D
Those burgers are ADORABLE!!! I loved the ones on the counters <3 Also, very cool mechanic with trapping them! Very creative!
If you find some time this weekend, please check out our game “Starship Minis” and leave a comment to let us know what you think! https://itch.io/jam/vr-jam-2021/rate/1145490
Thanks and congrats on completing the jam!!
You know I recently played BugSnax, so I can't help but feel reminded of that one here. Cute visuals on these burgers. And who doesn't love being a stinky troll.
I would agree with Andrew on finding the the floor burgers hard to constantly grab. The growing mechanic could be a fun style of level progression similar to Katamari Damacy. Starting with floor burgers, growing to eat counter burgers and then eventually smashing into a new restaurant. Good job!
Your idea of how to implement the growing mechanic as a more important form of progression is pretty interesting, definitely want to think of different use cases where you can get to unreachable places for when we do get to work on a full release!
I'm not gonna lie, we did sorta jokingly use BugSnax as an inspiration of sorts, glad you picked up on that!
Thanks for playing
Who doesn't enjoy muching on hamburgers? However, I did find it pretty hard to be constantly bent over to try and grab them.
Yeah, I get that, but we wanted to make a game which was really involved and intense... maybe for a future build to make use of burgers being on different levels of height to a greater extent could help to combat this - as opposed to always being focused on the burgers on the floor because that's where most are...
Thanks for the feedback anyway!
The bleeding and shrieking hamburgers are kinda funny, I just don't know why I'm a troll and how does this fit the "Small world" theme.
The prologue states you enter the small (yet joyous) world of a kitchen, upon reflection, probably should have made the prologue mandatory, for at least the first time.
Glad you found the hamburger theme funny - you are a troll because it allowed us to play with the idea of changing the players size, without it seeming weird - you don't see a human double in size after eating 20 odd burgers!
Thanks for playing!
Wow I did not really notice I was getting bigger :D Truth to be told, I only munched like 13 burgers, so that might have been the issue
yeah, it gets much more noticeable the more you eat, maybe should've pointed it out somewhere lol
I ate a bunch of bleeding hamburgers 😂
Glad to hear you had a great troll munching experience!
The opening scene in the wilderness you would think it was going to be some kind of outdoor adventure. Of course I saw the screenshots so I knew it was a hamburger munching game so grabbing the hamburgers and then feeding them into my face was satisfying. I broke emersion when I found I could walk through the furniture and walk through the walls?! It would great if there were more objects to interact with, maybe some of the hamburgers hiding behind books or some of the boxes, so you would have to move them out of the way to find and eat them. It's a good start if you plan to follow up with more features!
Hey, thanks for the response! the idea of the menu was that you are in the troll world, and get transported to the kitchen world - it was a last minute thing - sorry it didn't come across as intended :(
We do intend to keep working on the game after the voting ends however and chances are we will implement all of your ideas, hell, we wanted to implement those ideas, we were just constrained by time.
Thanks for playing!
