Amazing game! The graphics are wonderful and its a great atmosphere. My only complaint is that the attack button is the same as the dialogue button, so I ended up skipping a bit of dialogue during certain fights.
Wow, this game has it all, exploration, a story, multiple endings, killer graphics/sound, all wrapped up in one complete package. Definitely one of the most polished games, very nicely done!
Fun game! I like the cheeky dialogue and the rogue-lite feeling, also I am still figuring out how you accomplished the lighting effect.
Thanks :D If you want to check the shadowing you can look at the code here : https://github.com/Sharundaar/wasm4-gamejam/blob/73cd70a83dd46c4d3c86b4c6b9c2a92...

Loved it, clever structure.
Cute Graphics, just enough story, overall very enjoyable.
After getting the bad ending (no spoilers), I couldn't help but try for the good ending which meant I spent about 10mins dying falling into holes haha.
Loved the fade effect, I am guessing you did that with pallet shifting?
and the dithering lighting effect was great. Graphics are definitely 10/10. Well done!
Thanks :D The fade was indeed done by shifting the palette using 4 steps over a few frames, I could have lerped it a bit more smoothly but I felt it matched the overall console vibe a bit better.
I considered making the hole path a bit easier to do, also to be able to do it with no sound... I'll have to think about it
different sound for bumping against the wall would suffice, otherwise it's ace, no point making it easier! i memorized the way through the dark with the torch first and then replayed. the fight in dark was realy tough, some sounds there would help. and even with these tiny problems the game is winnable and super nice!
