I enjoyed the narrative aspect in your game :)

this was super fun! i wish my laptop was a little faster though because at a certain point the game slowed down. either way i would probably play this outside of a game jam. if you dont mind, could you play my game? https://itch.io/jam/wowie-jam-3/rate/940372

The use of 2.5D it's my weak point, it's really beatiful and awesome how you combine the graphics to look awesome. The gameplay was nice too, really enjoy the game, good job!

I really like the use of 2.5d graphics and swapping out abilities is a cool concept which I also explored in my Roboscout game.

The game occasionally wouldn't register when I beat a level and made me do it again a few times, it feels like it only accepts abilities in a certain order which spoils the puzzle nature of the game.

Fits the theme well and the puzzle platforming is pretty good

Yeeah, unfortunately was a very rushed project, so there are some weird bugs with level transitions sometimes. >.<

But yeah, the idea was to hopefully have puzzles based around the fact you could only hold two abilities, so you'd need to make sure you retain movement while also obtaining new abilities.

Thanks for the play!! I'll be sure to check yours out as well.

It happens with Gamejams don't stress about it.

Oh yeah, at first I didn't recognise that you could only have 2 and the order was important too. It came across as I had to figure it out to beat a level.

Well made game, really liked the fact of you using both 2D and 3D elements, great polishing in the game overall it was real fun to play. I reached around level 5 I guess, at that point it became impossible to progress as I gained shield and lost my walking ability! I did not know its intentional for jam theme or not but it felt like a bug(maybe you rushed like me for the jam :P). Also a small feedback on the same point that I felt a bit slow for regaining the walk ability again and again, and to die to gain that in each level, maybe giving walk ability from start may speed up the game a bit and will definitely make it super interesting, overall really liked your game, good luck for the jam! :)

Developer

Yeeeaah, probably should've streamlined the walking ability thing. After level 3, the player starts with it, but can still be a lil annoying, but really wanted to hammer home the mechanic. (;^^)

As for losing the walking ability, the character can only hold 2 abilities and loses the ability they gained the longest ago. So for those puzzles, you need to make sure to "re-gain" the walking ability to ensure it doesn't get removed once a third ability is obtained (like get walking -> get jump -> get walking again -> then walk into fire). Otherwise, you need to restart the level. >.<

I'm glad you liked though! Thank you for the long comment! :D
