The walls can be hard to see even when lit
has a very good feel
I really like the music in this game! It really helps to set an atmosphere, and I wish that I had the time to whip something up that was this nice. The mazes were fun to navigate, but it was kind of difficult to see, which I guess was the point :)
Great Game!
First of all, the music, it's very, very beautiful. Honesly one of the best musics I've heard in a jam game.
Even though the gameplay isn't anything revolutionary, the fluid and fast movement makes travelling through mazes quite fun.
The art looks really good. Very unique visual style compared to usual game jam art. If I have to nitpick, in some places (like in the pic below) it's quite hard to differentiate background from walls. The small story scene in the beginning adds a fine amount of context which I like.
Overall, polished and beautiful experience, well done Theo.
I feel flattered. :')
Honestly, I just took it easy and tried to combine things I already had in ways they would complement each other.
For example, I had the shader, so I generated some low res and not so impressive quality pictures generated by AI and they made for great backgrounds.
The shader inspired the gameplay using light, as that seemed like it would lead to great visuals. This then inspired the very simple gameplay as well.
I'm happy you enjoyed this small creation :)
(As for the background and walls having the same color, the shader uses color reduction, so that would have been pretty difficult to change. It's fine imo, cause you can still eventually figure out which are walls and which aren't.)
Great visuals but wish there was some more variety with the levels, like some sort of threat you can only see using photon etc.
I thought of it, but I just didn't want w to create a stressful experience.
Not an inherently bad idea though. Would add variety for sure.
Honestly the art and music were pretty good. However the levels were kind of long.
Would love if you could rate my game:

Fair criticism :)
Hey Theo.
Great job on the shader mate.
Although, to be super honest and I'm only really telling because we've worked together the game isn't like super fun... I'm just doing a maze puzzle but it's more frustrating.
Not regarding my comment above, but maybe you should have made another music? This seems like something an AI could make, but sometimes they don't make good stuff so you kinda have to try again.
I'd post the win-screen here but there isn't one :/
Yeah, it's just a maze, you go through and that's it. It was fun to make and that was my focus this time :)
No the concept was good, I would have maybe made the light the only way to see where you're going from the beginning, but otherwise, it was fun. And also yay, you've played teaching bird, thanks!
Really cool idea, I really like the concept! Was really fun to play, good job!
Thank you! I thought the concept was probably the weakest part of my game, so this is reassuring ':)
Btw, Teaching Bird was pretty funny, so I'm eager to try this version! :)
