btw, it is local multiplayer

That's great so far.. but I had encountered problems moving the player.. it's very hard to control ..1, It's slow 2, U better use any other method instead of using physics to do the mov't ..or tweak some settings and fix it.. very Nice so far

Submitted

I know it is an early draft, but here is my experience with it:

1. The movement is slow to accelerate, but can end up going fast. I personally prefer snappy movement, so adding more to acceleration and having a top speed would be nice.

2. The velocity doesn't stop when you hit a wall, so you can get stuck for a quite a while.

3. After two yellow pellets I couldn't find third one.

Submitted

the movement was made to try and make it hard to control on purpose, but I will fix the second and third. On the third, I assume you mean the Menu minigame?

Submitted

Menu minigame implies there is more than just the ship flying around a screen with score, time, and the word lord game. Is there?

Submitted

Yes. Click the word load. Do you think I should remove the menu minigame, to make it obvious what the actual game is

Submitted

Or should I just make the buttons more obvious

Sup. Please don t consider me mean, I ma try to be as honest as possible. So, the first issue that I ve noticed is the movement, it is way to hard to control and it makes the game not fun. Second of all, I simply didn t get what I was supposed to do in the game. You rly should add a tutorial. Third of all, try making a background for the game, so that it would look more like the action is happening in space. Also, you could add a health bar, a respawn button, improve the graphics, add a sound when the enemies shoot and when the player shoots, make the enemies shoot a bit delayed(not just shoot 100 bullets at you when they see you). Thats all, hope this helped! Good luck with your game!

Submitted

Thanks. Imma do this now. God, why did I only see this after I post my update xd.

Submitted

btw, what do you mean when the player shoots. Only turrets can.

Oh, I thought that the player could shoot and I didn t figure out what the keybind was.

Submitted

btw, I added a tutorial in the update

I see,  but please fix the spacing between lines, it s actually hard to read.

Submitted

Alright.

Update, very important, game was completely changed. Still getting through the stuff from 00d3v  https://liluo.io/instant-builds/69da9649-f012-425d-87d2-7091485cd66a

Sup! Glad I helped ya! The game clearly looks better, but man, what happened to the movement? It s even harder to control now!

Submitted

Oh, "ai" controls horizontal movement, you control vertically. I did it to try and better fit the theme, after I deleted turrets, since they didnt work out

I see. It s kinda bugged thou. Did you actually code AI or does it just move horizontally with a random value?

Submitted

random movement, except it moves towards health blocks, and away from deadly platforms

Btw, I spotted a bug. The player can hit the enemy through the wall 0.0 .

Submitted

Ah, bullets go through walls of their colour, but not of opposite colour, do you think I should remove the feature

Well, depending. If you fix the AI then you should remove it but if you keep the AI as it is right now you could leave it like this.

Submitted

ok? Why does how the ai work affect wether bullets should go through certain walls?

(1 edit)

Well, the "broken"(I will call it broken because Idk how else to call it) part made the player very hard to control, so, if you don t fix it, hitting the enemy through a blue wall is a very efficient way of winning the round. Thats actually how I won a round in the "broken" AI version.

Edited message btw.

Submitted

Well ok anyways ig. Guess I'll keep it, also, I believe I have now finished it for the most part(most recent update is https://galliumelk.itch.io/turret-terror)

Man, don t rush the game. You should make some levels, some more enemies, fix the AI etc.

Submitted

Ill make more levels, but I cant make more enemies, cuz there are non, its a multiplayer game.

Oh. That makes more sense. I would highly suggest you to make a single player mode too, but, thats just my suggestion, I could be wrong!

Submitted

I would make singleplayer but one problem, no idea how to make player ai

Submitted

The font you are using is a bit hard to read. This might be ok for titles and stuff but I'd suggest you find more readable font  for tutorial where there is a lot of text.

Submitted

done.
