ive got a question i want to ask so here we go:

its says to be original but its says to create a game based on links awakening mechanics and it also says that we must explore and imagine new ways to make your own game based on that so which one must i do, must i create a game on links awakening mechanics or create my own or even better BOTH.

Create your own project but based on some link's awakening memchanics that you like it. The idea is to explore whaot makes this game so cool and interesting to play for you and replicate in your own game. There is no wrong question.

Any limit? Like what will be consider a clone or rip-off etc?

if the game uses zelda (or any other franchise) characters, worlds, storylines, etc, it will be considered a clone or a fan game and will be disqualified. There is no limit for the gameplay aspect, but keep in mind that a direct clone in everything will have very few chances to win the jam.
