This game is amazing, it doesn't seem to be done in just a week, the sounds effects totally get me into the game. Good job !

Did you use any assets?
While the submarine, voice-over, music and most of the 3d objects were created during the game-jam, some third party assets were used for the in-game animals, textures, shaders and sounds. They are cited on the game page.

Cool game! The audio was totally broken for me so I had to mute it. Not sure if this was meant to be a QWOP type game but it kinda felt like it lol. Pretty tough to maneuver through the level but it had a good atmosphere so that was nice. Good job :)
Really cool game, I love the atmosphere and was genuinely really fun to play well done :)
The game is well polished and well made , it was made with love and passion , I liked the models alot , I liked that the game is also narrated very well , the game easily deserves 5/5 for everything you did an excellent job!
It looks like a game that was made in more than 7 days :), a Fun game, with unique controls, and a great atmosphere. Great job!
Great job! You've put a lot of work into this and it shows! Great visuals, cool controls and a narrated story in just 7 days? Nice!
It is always a big challenge to come up with a good story in such a small time window. You absolutely nailed it, the story, 3 puzzles and the aesthetics are all on point! Great work!
-----Puzzle Spoilers, go play the game first-----
The unique control scheme was lots of fun. There's definitely much more to explore mechanically if you were interested in making a full game. The puzzles were a little obtuse. I ended up checking the solutions page for the first two, and accidentally solved the last one.
I guessed that some sort of impact was required for the first puzzle, but I guess I didn't hit it hard enough when I tried to ram it the first time, so I disregarded speed as the answer.
For the second puzzle, I had basically forgotten that turning my lights on/off was a thing by that point, as there was never actually a reason prior to switch them before, and they just seemed like a quality of life element, not a real gameplay object.
I probably would have solved the third puzzle but I bumped a fish towards the window by accident while exploring the room. A happy little accident.
2/3 of this review is complaining but make no mistake, I had a largely positive experience with The Helmscrab. I just wanted to be clear, since you seem to be interested in feedback in other comments.
Well Done
Thanks for the feedback, and also thanks for marking your post as spoilers, that's really considerate of you.
So yeah, all of that feedback makes a lot of sense. I have a few ideas for solutions, just didnt get a chance to implement. I was wondering if that was going to happen on the third puzzle! If I had more time I'd like to make the whole thing happen more easily while intentional, and less easy to happen accidentally.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback about your experience. Ultimately I'm here to learn and that's really helpful for me!
Thanks for the feedback.
Are you able to be more specific about "control issues"?
The game uses q a e and d as movement controls, and it gives the player full control over the 2 motors. I spent a good amount of time tweaking controls to make sure they were fair and working as intended.
Was something not working?
This is a great concept, However for some reason I couldn't get music to work, However graphics are stunning and I like how its 3d! However I've found it a little hard to control the submarine but it is very winnable game and it feels like you really done something when you do win. I also thought the game was broken with the starting intro, I thought I was to play not watch a intro. Otherwise I think this is a very nice game!
This is something incredible, but I was disappointed that for some reason I couldn't break through the glass where the shark was still swimming, I tried for 10 minutes and it didn't work, so I went in. The music and sound design are very fascinating, as well as a good performance of the theme
