actually after looking at it a bit more, it looks like all games that got fewer than the average number of ratings (14) had scores reduced, and that reduction is more severe the further you are from the average.

It's looking like theres a penalty for being rated a smaller number of times. So if you didn't get many plays / ratings, your game is rated lower.
I really love your game by the way. Also, fun fact, if you weren't penalized for the lower number of ratings, your game would have the top score for the "Theme" category. My game, The Helmscrab, has the top spot in that category. I remembered your game and went to see how it was rated, and I noticed the penalty as well, and that your raw score for theme is actually higher than mine.
Fun game!
That's really cool that you and your brother teamed up on making this - ALL of the assets too. Nice job. I wish I had started designing games at 16. I really enjoyed that each level felt sort of like a puzzle, and at first it seems really hard, but there's a trick to getting by some of those obstacles. There are some really smart game design decisions in there. Nice job!
I would love to see some sound effects added in there.
I thought I was being trolled by this game til I read the comments, lol. the way the controls are so sluggish, in combination of that first asteroid coming so fast makes it seem like it's impossible. I would adjust that so players can figure out the controls before getting smashed. I like the spinning rocket, that's really cool.
Nice job. There are definitely some cool ideas here.
My biggest gripe is that the hit-boxes on the spikes are brutally huge, and that they instant kill you. I didn't get very far In the game because I got really tired of the spikes feeling unfair. You can see the visual/hotbox discrepancy in this screenshot. I would adjust the hitboxes and make them damage you instead of kill you.
Thanks for the feedback, and also thanks for marking your post as spoilers, that's really considerate of you.
So yeah, all of that feedback makes a lot of sense. I have a few ideas for solutions, just didnt get a chance to implement. I was wondering if that was going to happen on the third puzzle! If I had more time I'd like to make the whole thing happen more easily while intentional, and less easy to happen accidentally.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback about your experience. Ultimately I'm here to learn and that's really helpful for me!
