Hello, this is my second-ish jam & I'm extremely pleased with the results! (wasn't expecting top 3 overall ✨!!!) & every other category was within striking distance of top-10 (which is AWESOME!). I think I got the UI, aesthetics & gameplay part down but difficulty due to unusual controls defo hindered my game a bit for a few people, will defo work on it a bit more!

I learnt a TON & had a blast creating and playing games during this jam, I was in a slump lately (tons of failed projects) & joined the jam because a friend recommended it to me, defo one of the best decisions I've made so far. I'm planning to polish things up a bit more & try to port it to android (which is no easy task but hey, I like to experiment!)

Also planning to share my story of creating this game through a YouTube Devlog (still in production, trying out new editing styles, idk when it's going to be published, prob in a couple of months)

Everyone was incredibly nice & I think they've made pretty unique & fun games, can't wait to meet everyone again in next year's jam ;)

That's so cool that you are potentially planning a YouTube devlog regarding the jam! I think a lot of folks would enjoy and learn a lot from that. My brothers and I were thinking about doing a similar project and I think overall it could be really great content and could help people who are thinking about getting into their first game jam. Just wanted to post a reply to this to encourage that project :D

I have subbed to your YouTube channel. I would love to watch a devlog that talks about the game you made for this jam, and will definitely check it out of you decide to upload it!

Thank you for sharing, and congratulations for your game.

With it being my first jam, I was expecting to have a low rated game that barely gets any notice, I could not have been more wrong.  Everyone I have engaged with has been positive and supportive and I'm glad I participated and engaged with the jam.

I would definitely like to see a devlog of your story.  Personally, I don't have the confidence to break into YouTube yet, maybe one day, but not today.  I'm thinking of doing a devlog post on itch though, to keep a record of my experience.

Like you I have really enjoyed participating in the jam, from making the game to playing and rating so many others.

And you're already planning for next year's jam, I wonder if that's how you did so well :P

Following your mention of making a devlog video of your journey through to the jam, I have made a post here about my journey as well if you're interested.

The link is at the start of the thread, it's a long read though.

Just read your itch post crazyhound, thanks for sharing your journey mate! (It was quite a fun read!)

And thank you to everyone too for replying XD, been a bit busy lately so I'm kinda slow on replying to comments, but I would also love to read everyone's journey if they're willing to share more about it!

Cheers everyone ;)

Hello again, I was curious to know how you're getting on?  Have you made a YouTube channel yet?

Over the last few weeks I have been working on new project that I'll eventually upload.  While I've been building it and looking at things, I've decided to upload some playtest footage to show what has been done for it so far, and as this needed me to use a 3rd party host for the video, I've ended up creating a YouTube channel.  Only the 1 video on there for now, but doing it reminded me about your plans.

The project is here:

Hello! I have a YouTube channel but I haven't posted the devlog yet (still working on it, 30% done, defo taking longer than expected XD). I got the script ready but I'm still experimenting with different motion design apps to make my video, fingers crossed, hopefully it will be done at the end of the month 🤞.

Btw just seen your latest project, good luck on creating an FPS! definitely will be following your journey, I'm curious to see the dev process behind it ;)

Cheers! Have a great day 🍵
