Your additional ideas that were scrapped sound also very interesting. Maybe you can use them in an update or another game. I can assure you that the flickering is not because of you messing up. It's Unity which messes up your tilemaps :D If the suggested solution in the video does not work for you, there are other solutions, too (e.g. setting the "Pixels per Unity" of your tilemap sprites to 1 pixel less than you have right now).

I get it that you wanted to do another solo project before working with others. I also normally work on my own, but I did 2 projects with my friend now.

For how long have you been in game development now?

I'll defo look into these things. A part of me does want to come back to this project to fix some of the things that I couldn't do, but maybe when I get better with Unity, or maybe try it in Godot.
I got my Bachelor's in Game Design, which took two years, but I can only really confidently say that I took it seriously for about 5 months now. I'm still learning and trying to improve myself.
Hbu, how long have you are your friend been in game dev

Oh cool, you have a bachelor's degree in Game Design! Nice!

I started learning Unity about 2 years ago, but just as a hobby on the side as I am already working full time. I studied something completely different. My friend has been doing art for a long long time, but it was used as game sprites for the first time a year ago, when we paticipated at our first game jam together.
