I was once a fan of Eternum and Caribdis. I noticed after some time that with each release that the Dev time was longer and longer. I added it all up and worked out that it was taking over 6 months for each release, which in my opinion was way too long.

I was a paying customer through Itch.

I asked why. I got no response. I got angry with being ignored and started acting out. I got blocked. Now I will oppose Caribdis in all things.

So in the end the reason I dislike Caribdis and Eternum is a mix of long dev times and poor customer service.

masterpieces take long to be developed!

I understand, it's taking waaaay too long to the updates, but when they come out... Oh boy, a man can only dream!

last eternum update was dope!

and please man, don't associate different developer's work, they are not the same and your opinion on one's shouldnt affect the work of another!

reconsider your thoughts, please!

You didn't change my mind but thank you for your kindness.

we can only recieve kindness through giving kindness!

but really, reavaluate your opinions, Eternum is probably the best game of the genre by far, picking battles you can't win will only make your next experiences be frustrating. Let the hate go away, my friend, embrace the love and the message of the games, not what you think of the dev.

It's fair to be impatient, though I have no experience in making this kind of thing  so I can't comment on the speed in which these VNs are being made. However, I think the stories they tell and the emotions they create are worthwhile enough.

It seems that all VN studios that create quality work take time, and burnout is a cruel maiden. As long as these stories are given the opportunity to be concluded, I don't mind waiting.

Hopefully you find a dev/dev-team that suits your pace, have  a good one!

There was actually a poll on Patreon a long while ago where Cari put on a vote whether he should go for longer dev times with meatier content or keep the shorter dev times which Cari was using at the time (3-4 months per update). Guess which option won?
