Hi. I tried your AVN and I'm afraid I was not impressed.

On the positive side the character models were very beautiful and the quality of the graphics was quite high.

But I found the story hard to follow, I got bored early on and just stopped trying to track what was happening. I think I grew bored because I have seen other similar stories before, so I found the story to be uninspired.

I didn't think the MC was anything special or that he deserved all of the attention he was getting, I didn't know or care what his superpower was...

The only female character I was interested in at all was Ling and even then I'd be hard pressed to say what I liked about her apart from her general appearance. Personally I dont think that's a very good reason to like a girl, so I was quite disappointed in the female characters.

I think the choices are almost meaningless. They only seem to offer relationship points, which only lead to lewds. I dont think they will change the actual story in any way. I think I could take the most negative option possible in every choice, destroy every romance in the story and the end result would be exactly the same...

Next is a topic I find difficult. You see I really hate Eternum, so seeing a reference to it in your AVN was a massive turn off for me. 

So for all of these reason I have to give your AVN 1 star and I cannot in good faith back you in any way.

Its good to hear it is intended to be Harem but I can opt for just one girl or even none at all.

Just be careful with your dialogue as you go along, I have seen a lot of AVNs include dialogue that assumes the MC is romancing or dating one girl or another or even just having sex with her only to forget to count that the player might have chosen not to do it. 

Many times I have deliberately avoided any and all lewds just to see what the AVN does only to be disappointed by such assumptions.

Yo! So I tried your AVN and I was pretty happy with it.

I enjoyed the sense of humor in it and also the quality of the graphics.

The idea of the Portals is fairly unique for an AVN, I have seen similar ideas but nothing exactly like this one. Should be interesting.

On the other hand I think the choices in this AVN leave something to be desired. Mostly It just seems to be a slow build up of affection/relationship points... which I assume will eventually lead to unlocking lewd scenes with a particular girl... But is that all it is? If thats the case then I will be disappointed. 

I hope that you avoid that trap, its an illusion of choice because it doesn't actually change the plot in any way.

I hope to see actual plot changing decisions instead... For example: what if the MC and his friends can change the fate of the worlds they visit but its dependent on what choices you make as a player? Maybe if you choose to save a particular NPC it turns out they can help you save that world? Or contrary-wise they could betray you and doom that world?

Anyways another question I have: Is this a Harem game? Or am I expected to choose just one girl?

Aahhhh that's what you meant.  It wasnt clear that you meant the current version from your original post. Rather it seemed to be about the completed game...

I believe earlier posts have implied that once the next version goes live the current version (2.1) will go free2play. I don't know for certain.

However heres something of note. Above it has an Important note:

I think the part I Bolded may be important here. RebootLove is intending to create a brand new site for the game each year or 3 updates. 

Now I'm just theorizing but part of that may be so he can do the free version a little differently too. 

I just checked and Genex Love Part 1 is still only free up to version 0.3.5, you must pay $10 to get the 0.9.97 version. 

So my theory is that maybe the Dev wants to max out his profits by having a free version of Genex Love 2 and then a paid version that includes more content, like he did with part 1. He would then repeat this for each new website to bring in greater profits.

Or he might make the version on this website free once he makes the next one. It's impossible for me to tell with out using Telepathy or Precognition. I cant risk my secret Identity so I cant do that, sorry.

Thats an unrealistic expectation there mate. 

It's akin to expecting an author to give away their book for free once its finished and published... 

Now dont get me wrong some authors do exactly that, my point is that it shouldn't be expected of them...

I expect that once he finishes Genex Love, Rebootlove will probably have the completed version on the appropriate website for a reasonable sum while there will be an earlier version available for free.

Effectively a Demo of the game for free and the full version for cost.

Thats what he did with Genex Love Part 1, so that's what I expect him to do with Part 2 and the completed version of Genex Love.

Well one thing I like to do when testing out a new AVN is something I like to call my 'Negative Reaction Test'. 

It means I go through the whole AVN making every available choice in the most negative way I can. The point is to test out what changes the choices actually make on the story.

Do the characters say anything about the way the choice was handled? Does the AVN skip dialogues or is it exactly the same dialogue regardless of the choice made? (I see this disturbingly often. Characters saying that the MC had sex with a female character when in fact I had not allowed the lewd to take place...)

If I encounter a character I really like or some story element, then I will replay the whole thing making much more positive choices.

Thank you for responding with so much good grace. I often offer my input to Devs of AVNs and a lot of the time they or their fans respond defensively.

Although I am often quite harsh with the negative side of my criticism, I also try to offer positives simultaneously.

I think too many fans forget that our role is to help writers like yourself to grow in every aspect. That means asking for improvements in all aspects of the project.

Hey there. So I recently tried this Kinetic Novel and I liked it for the most part.

It is very derivative of the AVN 'My New Family' by Killer7, I think you have even referenced it. Although I personally think that 'My New Family' is superior to this AVN. Sorry.

I did like the part with Kylie being 'SavageMage' and the MC being 'Gothril' though! I have a pretty strong protective instinct, so playing on that a bit got me hooked pretty early on.

I also prefer Kinetic Novels to AVNs, so you have that in your favour too. I think AVNs rely too much on choices that dont really do anything, except for allowing a player to skip or see a lewd. Very few AVNs actually include meaningful choices in their stories, by meaningful choices I mean choices that actually change the plot.

If you've ever played an old style pick a path adventure book, like the Warlock of Firetop Mountain, then you know what I mean.

KNs dispense with that illusion of choice completely, I appreciate that honesty.

On the other hand I think you were rushing a lot of your story. I think the characters barely had time to breathe before they were jumping into bed with the MC...

A progress report would be appreciated.

Hi. So I tried your AVN and I enjoyed it for the most part. Lovely girls and some beautiful models for them.

The storyline is a little predictable though, I guessed how it was going to end long before I got to it.

Another point of criticism I have is that even though this is clearly not a real Harem game, as in you must choose just one girl in the end, sometimes the dialogue of the characters seems to assume it is a Harem. 

What I mean by that is that in my play through I only pursued Eva, I turned down every other romantic interest from the start. Yet in the fancy bar at the end one of the girls said the MC was having sex with half the girls there... which he was not... Which broke my sense of immersion...

I also notice I cant give the AVN a rating via review. If I could I would give you a 3 out of 5 stars.

Hi there! I enjoyed this latest update. I very much enjoyed getting away from the Carnations Club and seeing a little more of the rest of the city.

I thought the whole 'Victoria's Dark Secret' story was quite well done. I could feel Edwin's conflict and his pain. I went with trying to put the past behind them for good myself.

I screwed up a little with my 'Hana is the BAE' game though and will need to redo it to get the latest solo Hana scene... But she's totally worth it.

I really liked seeing Mina start to get a little jealous and possessive in my 'Mina is the BAE' game though. I think she will eventually request full GF privileges, which I will happily have Edwin grant her.

My one real complaint about your work is that this update took about 9 months to come out and that is an awfully long time. I really hope that the next release will be quicker and that you guys are doing your best to get that Dev time down...

Hi! I just read the 0.11.1b update and I was very satisfied with it! The character growth was amazing. I especially liked the scene in the restaurant with Asuna... She's so complex, like a spider in her web... but a spider who'll do anything to protect her friends.

As always Sofia is the best GF a man could ask for and I can tell things are warming up with Isabella too.

As for Ava... I cant wait to know what's really going on with her...

The end of the update was a great cliffhanger... Seeing Jasmin so sad made my protective urge snarl and left me wondering if something bad has happened to Julie...

Hi. So I tried your AVN and I wanted to let you know my thoughts on it.

I liked most of it. I liked the story and especially the characters. Lady Steel was my favorite although I liked most of the characters for one reason or another.

I also thought the quality of your graphics was excellent. The character models you used were unique for the most part. A lot of AVNs use stock models, I couldn't see any of that in yours.

I also saw a lot I didn't like however.

I'll start with the choices or rather the lack of them. Like a lot of AVNs yours only really had one choice: Do I want to see a particular Lewd or skip it? Thats what it boils down too. 

This a common problem with AVNs, the solution I would suggest would be to add in some actual deviation in the story... perhaps a choice on resisting the MTF and leaving the Sisters behind forever or committing oneself fully to their cause, regardless of the cost.

What really bugged me about this AVN though was the references to other AVNs.

 You see I really hate Eternum... so seeing it mentioned a few times really soured my mood. Pissed me off to be honest. 

So I'm afraid my impression of your AVN has also suffered... To the point that I could never support your AVN. In fact once I'm done with this review, I'll leave you be.

Lastly I also noticed your spelling and grammar slipped a bit in Chapter 6.

That doesn't make any sense! The Chef was standing outside and when I spoke to him he told me I need to train more before he will hire me...

Then when I went to Mekumba and spoke to him, he told me I cant train anymore at the moment...

Why would going inside make a difference? Why would the dev design it this way? Its completely misleading and contradictory!

No, I stand by what I said. This game is utterly broken and the dev needs to stop screwing around with different engines and just concentrate on getting the damned story structure right! Make it make sense!

Hi. I ran into a couple of scorpions early on and got poisoned. Didnt have any way to cure it and didnt know where to go to get cured. Obviously I got a game over.

That was enough for me to quit and delete the game.

Perhaps you should consider giving a little guidance in the game regarding this issue. Perhaps an NPC such as the Gyaru girl could mention where a shop or a doctor is before you leave the first town...

If there is no way to cure the poison then you should really reconsider having it in the game at all...

Game is now locked behind an impassable barrier. Mecumba wont train the MC anymore and the Chef won't let the MC work until he trains more...

You keep making these errors with every iteration of your AVN. It's ridiculous.

I would prefer it if the Dev explicitly stated if its a Harem game or not.  That way I can be sure of myself. I dont want to spend hours, or even days, playing an AVN only to find out my assumption was incorrect and now I have to start all over again.

I enjoyed this update. Here's some feedback:

Pros: Some good Character development for some of the girls that haven't been getting much attention. I especially liked Esthers scene with Colby, she forced him onto his backfoot easily. I think some of the girls need to be nicer to Cecilia though, she's trying to help and they are dissing her hard.

Cons: There aren't many choices to make in this update. Just the lewd with Fiona. Also not much difference in regards to my choices leading up to this point, meaning that in one of my games I have rejected all romantic advances from all the girls but I only saw one or two lines regarding that choice. 

What I would like to see: Choices should have consequences. In my non-harem/Fiona only game I would like to see growing division and discontent. Sue should be getting more desperate for approval, Tracy more dejected at being rejected, etc.

I know these things take more work, its just my two cents.

I downloaded the 2 parts, installed them and it worked perfectly. Thanks for your help and the extra effort.

So its been over 8 months since the Ch4Up4 release went public. What's happening with the next update?

Ill give it some time, see if Itch comes through for us.

This AVN is very pretty but also very shallow. Choices dont matter and neither do success or failure. I deliberately failed the tests and lost the first arena battle. Didnt matter, dialogue and story continued on as if I had won/succeeded….

Poor story telling right there.

Also a lot of bad English. It’s a Russian Dev I think but still they need someone to read through it all for them to correct the grammar mistakes and missing words. Also letters that aren’t capitalized. lIKE tHIS!

I skipped the only lewd scene this AVN offered because who the fuck would fuck a girl he doesn’t know when she just broke into his bedroom uninvited in the middle of the night…? Every man knows: you don’t stick your dick in crazy…

Yay, Crimson High content! It was nice to see Aki get a little more attention, she deserves it. The scene with Aki and Yui was scorching hot. 

Bar Mei is awesome, very sexy. I think the white-haired Mei is Mei Prime. I'm calling it.

Also as an Aussie I will be saying 'Koalafied' from now on and that only Aussies are qualified to say 'Koalafied'!

Nene is a strong contender for the title of 'most adorable' I have to admit. The snaggle fang and the lisp is just so cute!

I hope the attempt to reach Rai will work out too, for Reina's sake... But it could easily turn into a trap for Ren and Aki, maybe Machi too.

Literally the only thing I didn't like was the reference to Tropilcali in there. I tried that AVN once and hated it. Im still pretty certain that the MCs half sister, I think her name is Gloria or something, is a con artist trying to sell the Hotel when she doesn't actually own it.

I am definately certain that the Japanese woman that 'bought' the hotel could not have actually done so since the MC could not have signed the paperwork. She would own Gloria's portion of the Hotel at most.

Hahaha! I got to the end and there is no option to reject all the girls and live alone! I deliberately avoided relationships between any of the girls and the MC specifically for this reason! Theres no way to end the game if you don't have enough relationship points with at least one girl!

Maybe add in an ending for that? Even if its a bad ending? Or a Mila ending since she is the one you cant avoid...
