I don't think you can ally with the rebels without Sayra telling the truth. But you can avoid a 'bad' end in Revaire, with the widow MC surviving at the end.

Do I need to invite Sayra to the first event even though I know she will decline? That's the only thing I didn't do. I didn't realize the importance there can be of inviting certain people who don't come, just to raise stats with them (like Jasper). Does increasing Sayra's stats affect the rebel approval?

I've figured out the main secret every time just without the Sayra part. So she's the reason I can't participate in the rebellion? Where in the timeline does she tell you her secret so I know if I've messed up? Before the play but after the trial? An exact day would be nice if you know it. Do I need to receive Mrs. White's gift too? Or is it possible to get Sayra's secret without receiving the gift? Because I don't know what I'm not doing in order to get that gift.

My current build doesn't have high enough persuasion to give me the option of a public ambition of Katiya's legacy. Is having that as a public ambition required for the rebels? Do I need to redo the character build to increase my persuasion to make it possible?

lololol lots of questions.

And yeah I would redo the character build for max persuasion and manipulation. Although inviting Sayra to events is a waste of an invite, expect if it's girls night or the board game night (she'll come) I think it'll boost her opinion of u. Also having max insight is necessary for 'I know Sayra can help herself' option when she's confronting a rude nobleman.

Having Kaytia's legacy as an ambition improves the rebels favour towards you a bit.

I think also having commoners favour helps with the favour.

According to my runs and to this version of the holy texts fan community-sourced spreadsheet guide:

- Inviting Sayra: Idk if throwing a refused invitation does anything with anyone else than Jasper, but it's definitely not an absolute necessity to get Sayra's friendship (and you don't necessarily need to invite her to any event at all if you play other cards right.)

- Sayra's secret: She approaches you late in Week 6, a little before the ball (guide says morning of Fire day), and tells you her secret if you're close enough to her and have figured out the existence of the rebels faction from the secrets chain (from exploring the castle in previous weeks).  So first you figure out the Rebels secret, and on Clarmont's route you get the talk, with zero mention of Sayra until W6.

When you say "I still couldn't choose the "participate in rebellion"", what's your exact issue? Do you not get the option at all, or does it show up but Clarmont refuses?

-You get the dialogue option about how you can't know his problems if he doesn't tell you (and he breaks up with you immediately):

You failed to get the entire Rebels secrets chain.

(OR maybe you didn't get enough Rebels approval? I don't think so, I'm not certain but I believe my horrible horrible widow who managed to promise to support him didn't have Rebels approval and got Clarmont and Sayra rivalry.) (And then betrayed the rebels and her beloved to Gisette.)

-You tell him that you know exactly what his problems are and get a long talk, but the option to say "I understand" or "I refuse" to break up doesn't show up:

You picked too many wrong answers in the previous dialogue.

-You can say you refuse to break up, but he breaks up with you anyway and you don't get the options to offer to help him:

You don't have enough Persuasion (guide says 400 needed). Even if you picked all the right choices and know everything you need to know, you still also need 400 Persuasion.

(Usually you'll need to have gathered a lot of Manipulation and Insight at the very start of the game to achieve this.)

-When you refuse to break up, the options to help him do show up, but if you pick either option, Clarmont refuses and your narration when you go to sleep references "your break-up":

You didn't pick enough right answers in the previous dialogue.

(There are scene-ending answers, wrong answers, neutral answers, and right answers. You can manage to get far into the talk with a few wrong answers, or with just neutral answers, and then suddenly get shut down at the end because you didn't make enough actually good points.)

-The option to help him shows up, but if you pick it, Clarmont says he'll need to think about it, and when you go to sleep afterwards you get a line about how "things are still so unsettled" with him:

You have succeeded! He'll come back to talk about it some more in the next week, and you will get a scene with Sayra a few days after that. You're clear to go!

-When you pick the first option, you get the "break-up" narration line, but when you pick the second option (to support him without getting involved in the rebellion), you get the "things are still so unsettled" line:

This option has lower requirements than the option to help him. This means that the reason you can't make the first option work is that you are not ethical and/or you have not picked a few but not enough right answers.

You have succeeded at this option, though! You can keep going down this route and get a good ending anyway.

Good luck!! You can do it! And it's totally worth it, bringing peace to Revaire is SO satisfying :)

You don't actually need 400 persuasion- sorry if the guide is confusing! Having 400 persuasion just +1 right so there's more breathing room if you didn't choose enough correct answers before. That's same with the other ROs, there's no persuasion requirement but being more persuasive helps. Clarmont's only special because he needs you to complete the rebel chain.

And yeah rebel approval doesn't matter for Clarmont romance. Failling the rebel approval check during the final rebel secret gives you 50 Sayra and Clarmont rivalry, but I don't think the game ever checks for your rivalry with Clarmont if you're already romancing him. However, the Sayra rivalry blocks her from revealing her identity in week 6, so anyone who wants a good revaire ending should try to stay on the rebels' good side.

If your widow betrays Clarmont, then that's not a problem for you ;p

I wasn't being rejected. We were engaged and everything at the end of the summit. I'm just trying to prevent Clarmont from dying at the end without bringing peace to Revaire.

I was told it's possible to get a "not bad" ending for Clarmont by siding with the rebels and not bringing peace.

I'm currently in the middle of week 6.  I was able to choose to actively participate in the rebellion and I got Sayra's secret. I'm hoping to get a real Clarmont end this time. I'm not expecting peace. I don't have any of the Revaire peace flags because I didn't get to interact with Gisette or Jarrod (i was too ugly to get invited on his date despite picking all the best answers Day 1). Though I was able to get slight revaire approval with the best "improve reputation" option.

In order to not have Clarmont die when you select "support him from afar" (instead of actively participate) do you have to bring peace to Revaire in order for him to survive in that route? Because I made it to the end but he died in the war and because it wasn't a good ending I didn't gain the countess or clarmont bonuses.

Okay, first off, you don't actually need to befriend Gisette or Jarrod if your goal is merely peace. Even if your MC has poor stats, you could convince Gisette to set up Jarrod/Sayra by just making the right choices during the conversation with her, then perform well during negotiation. If you succeed, you can get a happy ending with Clarmont.

If you want to support the rebellion instead, you need to choose to do so during conversation w/ Sayra in week 7, then choose to play confused innocent or mislead Gisette when the choice comes up. Mislead Gisette requires 90 manipulation and provides "good" rebel victory, but simply playing confused innocent can also lead to successful rebellion, just not as quick (and the game classify it as a "neutral" end. You can still get a happy ending with Clarmont).

If you supported the rebels actively but Clarmont still died during civil war, then you have failed in negotiation during week 7 day 5. For that, I recommend just following the guide aza linked to see what you can do. See week 7, and you need to increase "rebelallies" for rebel victory.

(1 edit)

I finally succeeded! Rebels won.
Based on everything you said, I'm going to see if I can use this build to get the peace ending too by redoing week7, without having to go farther back. Although there's no additional boosts I will get by doing that right? Does a perfect Sayra ending have a new boost?
And there's no benefit to supporting the royals on Clarmont's route right? There will just be different text and I'll have to kill him 😭?

I also happened to get the best friendship ending with Penelope too! So 3 stat boosts obtained.

No additional boost, yeah. And there is no benefit from supporting the royals on Clarmont romance path (although you get some... interesting content. You don't have to kill Clarmont with your own hands though).
