Cool idea! I especially enjoyed the style & animations of the robot; well done on making that from scratch!

Constructive feedback:

  • It took me quite a while until I encountered any ghosts - I feel like making it so that the player encounters them sooner (and potentially adding more ghosts) would result in them feeling like more of a threat.
  • I never felt a sense of urgency when encountering a ghost - I could take my time to outmaneuver it and make my way back to the portal. A potential idea could be that carrying an item would slow you down a bit more, so that you have to decide whether to drop the item, or take the risk and continue to the portal.

Overall, a really solid base that you can build on. Well done! I'm looking forward to checking it out again in the future if you plan on updating it further.

I know that the Ghosts are in need of a few improvements, but your ideas are good.

But I definitely want to do more with the game after the Jam.

Thinks I would like to add, would be:

  • Multiplayer
  • More variety in Enemies (including Designs and behavior)
  • Better and more Visuals
  • Sound effects
  • And procedural generated maps to keep it interesting
  • More Layers to the Map like a cellar or a roof

I don't fully know how realistic this is, but it can't hurt to try
