I just finished playing this and wow! It is a wonderful and haunting experience! I love the arts and the dark abstractness of them! It fits the theme so well! The idea of rescuing a loved one to the depths and experiencing such a creepy and spooky atmosphere was intense! I keep yelling to the hooded hero "stop dropping the rose" xD Which was funny lol! But yeah! Each floor was very creepy and I can see there are meanings behind each floor and how it must reflect the darkness present in the living. I was most especially creeped out by the floor where you cross the lake, as it triggered my Thalassophobia with all the creepy fishes and souls clinging about in the deep. Overall, this is an amazing masterpiece of a dark fairy-tale-like story that I can imagine reading a book about as a child. Amazing job! <3

Thank you so much for giving it a go!! I'm glad the atmosphere resonated with you, I had a lot of fun dreaming it up. I know, everyone is beefing with the loose grip of our hero haha. Just hold on to the darn thing! It's funny, for one my previous games Drift Away I had figured out the zoomed out look and drew a lot of the water monsters that I used in the big lake level. It felt nice to get a chance to reuse them since in Drift Away the "good" and "bad" encounters are fairly random and you could play the whole game and NEVER see the creepy monsters lol. I really was going for that thalassaphobic feeling and am glad (and sorry!) it worked and resonated.
