her body unswept by laughter, reaching as a dialed moon.

Ikalumbabam??? Is this the word in the song? What does it mean. It sounds amazing!

Anyways, great submission. Good job!

awww thanks so much for your support!! i appreciate you SO much!

the song is a love song, goes:

manang biday, ilukatmo man
‘Ta bintana ikalumbabam

which translates to:

older sister[1] biday[2], open it
the window, open the window (so we can talk)

picture: serenading an amore from their yard. bintana is window, and i'm not entirely sure the grammar of Ilocano but ikalumbabam is (i think lol) a morphologically complex verb meaning "to open and lean on the window sill" (like ilukatmo man) just including other information (tense, aspect, focus, etc) and possibly having undergone some phonetic transformations as well.

[1] "older sister" is not a perfect translation of manang, i use it in my family to refer to any woman older than me, it's more of a gendered honorific if anything.

[2] "biday" i think is a name

thanks so much for listening and asking!
