If you are stuck look at this guide: I’ve 100% completed this game. Or altleast as much as you would need to. I’ve got pretty much every upgrade in the game and became an immortal god because of the vampire card. This is also based on the itch.io version as of May 2024, NOT the experimental version. Here is my personal ranking of each card (I forgot the exact names):

Electric card: With high attack speed can shred through crowds of monsters early-mid game. Pairs well with cards that increase the amount of bullets like multi-shot or burst shot. Its quite literally free damage and i consider it to be the best early-game card.

Orbit card: Great for overall defense, which makes it great for early game and scales with bullet damage so a good add-on if you have a high speed build already. However it does have its glaring issues, mainly its low damage/the fact that when dealing with big slimes when they split, the smaller slimes can sneak into the circle. Because of this, it forces you to prepare counter measures like lava pool or ice. Great early game but even with upgrades becomes obsolete very soon in the face of red worms (Worst enemy in the game).

lava card: Completing for the best card in the game against vampire and electric, its great for both crowds and turtles. It also bypasses enemy armor and is viable mid-late game when upgraded. If i had to name any flaws with it, its the fact that you need to invest a large amount of upgrades into it, but besides that its one of the best cards in the game. It Pairs well with cards that allow more bullets like burst shot.

Armor shredder card: This one is a mixed bag. 10% of the time it gets rid of 10% of armor which sounds good until you realize you would need to hit 100 shots just to get rid of the armor, not even considering the health. It needs to be upgraded extensively which only makes it viable late game and at that point just get the assassin card which allows you to just bypass the armor itself with an extra bonus. This card just seems useless overall and is not something i would pick.

vampire card: This might be the best card in the game 0_0. Early game its good, mid game its amazing, and late game it makes you an immortal god, especially with high attack/bullet speed. Of course it pairs well with burst shot and multi-shot but honestly you could not spend a single upgrade on this card and it could still be extremely useful. If you are running a high bullet/attack speed build this is a must have.

Critical strike card: This is a also a mixed bag, but for a different reason. Its alrightish early-maybe-mid-game since you predictably need a lot of upgrades for it to be viable (btw 80% crit chance is insane) but under the right circumstances it can be an incredible damage dealer. But the reason im confused about it is because of the blue flame card which has the same effect and when fully upgraded actually prevents this card from working at all. Do not pair this with the blue flames and overall a decent add-on (And arguably better than the blue flames early game).

Multi-shot: Honestly haven’t used this card much but it seems pretty useless in the face of burst shot (like armor shredder). It might add-on some little extra damage early-mid game but by the time you have that maxed out late game you could’ve just used those upgrades on burst shot or blue flame.

Blue flame: As i mentioned it doesn’t work with critical strike but it still isn’t a bad card and might actually be better mid-late game. Yes the critical strike card does provide a higher damage boost but the blue flame allows for high consistent damage so this is a matter of preference.

Assassin card: Another great card. Allows you to pierce through armor (making armor shredder useless) and once the enemy’s health is low enough you can insta-kill. The armor piercing is already good enough but the insta-kill is the icing on the cake. This is basically a necessity mid-late game and you can think of it as a damage boosting card.

Ice card: I hate to say it, but this is another mixed bag. At first it seems like an amazing card; it slows enemies down (which also scales with max health), making it seem like the perfect card early-late game but it has one glaring issue. A glitch. Sometimes when effecting an enemy it somehow moves the same speed and ignores the slowing effect, which could easily end a run in the case of a turtle or red caterpillar. Still, it’s a great support card overall and i still wouldn’t ignore it, it’s just not a first pick.

Burst shot card: I know I’ve been hyping this one up, but for good reason. It allows you to fire multiple shots at once (to different enemy’s, unlike multi-shot) every 50 shots (bear with me there) and pairs insanely well with pretty much every effect card. Think about it, you can damage multiple enemy’s at once with 10 bullets of electricity or lava or even ice, which practically makes you unkillable mid-late game.

Honorable mention: Dice cards These are heavily underrated and are basically the key to getting past wave 30+. Their overhated because people dont like getting warm soup or armor on full health, but they ignore its obvious benefits like giving you more cards, allowing you to upgrade much faster. In early game it gives you a good foundation by giving you early accuracy and armor cards without having to waste rounds on them. Mid game it lets you upgrade your extra cards like lava or electricity much faster while also healing, and late game it can provide you with large buffs. Overall its one of the golden strategies to win, but in the end its up to you how you want to play, this is just some overwritten guide by someone with too much time on their hands. I’ll be surprised if anyone actually reads this lol.

TL:DR Vampire is op, Dice cards are op, orbit card is op, Burst shot is OP, become a minigun

Late game orbitals are still really good. The fact that they apply on hit effects is really good, it activates effects like vampire, statik, ice, and armor shred, and with 4 orbitals at 20 bullet speed it does so insanely fast. Btw, armor shred is absolutely good, as assassin doesn’t seem to fully bypass the endless turtles’ armor while as armor shred does. At max it gets rid of all armor after one hit, and it’s triggered by burst shot and statik, so it hits everything extremely quickly. Worst case, you take it after assassin’s armor pierce falls off and it gives you a very respectable damage boost after a little bit of scaling

I had almost forgot about orbitals applying on hit effects so they do scale with vampire, but to be honest I haven’t actually those on hit effects work with ice, static, and lava (I’ve used orbit quite a lot so maybe a glitch?). I still believe its a great card overall throughout the game, the point i was trying to make was that you just cant over rely on it. And you dont really need that much bullet speed for orbital to be OP, you can focus on adding orbs or just adding orbital damage and that works just as fine if not better (by the time you get max bullet speed its already late game and most things can tank that). By endless turtles i think you mean purple right? well at least in my experience if your already having a hard time killing the turtles that only makes assassin better as it kills them under a certain point (also for me it seem to bypass their armor for regular-red turtles). I will admit at max armor shredder does get rid of the armor but thats at max. of course its gonna be OP late game, the problem is that it takes a ridiculous amount of upgrades to get to that point and said upgrades are invaluable early-mid game. If you focus on armor shredding it will kill you early-mid game and i cant think of another card (besides maybe blue flame/crit?) that does that. Assassin on the other hand is good mid game, easy to upgrade, and also becomes OP late game. Once fully upgraded it becomes so OP that armor shredder is just obsolete. Since you are favoring late game in your comment; Armor shredder at least takes 1 shot to take off the armor of turtles and then you can attack. Meanwhile assassin can attack from the get go and insta-kills below half health. Although if your claim about it working with electric is true (I haven’t heard of that) then that might change things a bit late-game but early-mid game is a different story. It’s not hard to see which is the better card overall. Of course max Armor shredder with electric is better but there is no way you’re upgrading armor shredder to max and electric enough in a regular game without dying (which makes it only viable in endless mode). This is supposed to be a guide for beating the game not really for endless mode as you can just grab every upgrade at that point making a guide useless in the first place.

TL:DR Armor is still worse, orbit is still op

Correction, assassin armor pierce only gives incorrect amounts at earlier percentages, probably due to rounding if I had to guess. At 100% it goes through all armor, assassin is absolutely better. But as for orbital, I’ve had it do an amazing job at activating vampire ice and static. Lava, however, is an on land effect, meaning that it only activates with regular attacks, burst, multicast, etc. This is almost absolutely because of orbital, as otherwise it’d instantly form an impenetrable barrier of lava. The reason I focus so much on late game, though, is because I don’t tend to struggle with early/mid game, so long as I don’t get really unlucky with dice, but by all means that’s where orbital shines and armor shred sucks.

Stacking bullet speed is very valuable in the mid game though, as with high bullet speed, orbitals can make you effectively invincible with enough damage. So long as you target large slimes (or red caterpillars when necessary) before they reach your orbs, nothing can really get through it. Also bullet speed is just useful, as it causes you to lose less bullets when you switch targets and helps with red caterpillars which are otherwise too fast.

TBH I made the comment about orbital not knowing you could target enemies by clicking 😅. Orbital card is still overpowered for those reasons you listed above, i dont know if you thought i was trying to discredit it or anything, its still an amazing card by itself. The reason i say you dont need insane bullet speed to use orbital is that if you focus on adding small flames and damage its practically better than upgrading bullet speed. Its up to you personally whether you want to upgrade small flames themselves for them to be stronger or if you want to upgrade bullet speed (it’ll be weaker but better for you overall because of slimes and caterpillars). I’d say bullet speed is better to upgrade if your focusing on multiple cards, but if your focusing on orbital upgrade those corresponding cards first. Also you really shouldn’t run Armor shredder or assassin early game because those enemies dont really have armor (also i haven’t been effected by that assassin armor glitch) and assassin at lower percentages is still better than armor shredder at lower percentages.

Don’t get me wrong, the armor glitch isn’t significant in any way. It’s just that at 95% armor pierce you’re only piercing, like, 80%. And all I was doing with orbs was trying to give more examples of why it’s so good
