Thanks for playing! I'm considering either giving the shotgun a nerf to make it closer to the power level of the pistol or giving the pistol a buff to get it closer to the power of the shotgun. Also, when you say more difficult math problems do you mean larger numbers e.g 23 * 33 or maybe something like adding less straightforward operators like factorials?

I think both is a good way to add difficulty, larger numbers make math problems harder and harder operators might need a small math lesson before they are shown but I still think would be fun with a difficulty slider/options.

Yeah, I really like solving short algebra problems as well so maybe I could find a way to add them in. 5! is probably not a problem most people would know how to solve but I could probably give a tutorial for stuff like that. I would also definitely want to implement an adaptive difficulty system, like in RE4 so that players never feel too overwhelmed or too bored to be having fun. The more I design this game the more I wish I had it when I was younger and still in middle/elementary school.
