I just find this game and suddenly an update? What the fuck is it, Christmas?

...oh wait, it's Valentine's Day. (...was that planned?)

Got lucky I guess and my saves I had for Jin, Runan, and Joseph all loaded and played without issue. And god damn did this chapter cup-check me in the feels each time. Bravo.

Only immediate feedback I have, for one: during the game, Joseph's face in the 4th CG scene gets blocked by the art of who's currently speaking. Not sure what can be done about that, though.

The second thing I have to say is something that I don't really think is actionable, nor am I certain if it were my call that I'd want to change it? But it feels like after Chapter 2 there isn't a lot of influence that the player has on how the story evolves or can change even in subtle ways. On the other hand, I often suffer from a bit of decision paralysis because I'm bisexual, so I was content to watch the story unfold without much interaction, especially with some of the heavy subject matter this chapter handled. Also, I'm very aware that adding more story branches or even small things that variables could tweak puts more of a workload on you, and you seem focused on just trying to tell six stories. Which is a lot of stories.

Idk, it just bugs me from a design standpoint to see gameplay systems get left behind. Just wanted to ramble I guess. Great work on this update though, can't wait for the rest!

Just to be transparent, we are still in development. Right now, we want it to be linear in a way. Plus, I dont want it to complicate things after chapter 3. While I do agree I will need to revisit old mechanics, its not the right time. While we are making a game, which needs gameplay, it still all about telling a story, so we need to do that first.

I actually mentioned this in an old question, but the game will eventually have a rehaul after we release 1.0 (new sprites, more choices, and more bad endings huehuehue).

As for the Joseph CG, we do want to change it somewhat but I kinda find it funny the face is covered because youre too focused on his... health. So we keep it for now until we might change the cg entirely.

Y'know, I like that take on Joseph's CG lmao. Keep it >:3

And thank you for laying out your development approach - I kind of figured as much and totally understand.

I also want to say that I appreciate you taking the time to not just reply to my posts but also address the things I talk about. I just hope I'm not being annoying... You've written a story that's hooked me in a way that doesn't happen often and I'm extremely excited to see how it develops and improves.
