3/2 here. I'm flattered you like my TGL fan works so much, but please feel free to contact me if you want to use them in a project, even if these are early build place holders. I'm pretty reasonable with commission rates for new pieces, too! But please, don't be afraid to get in touch. I love Guardian Legend and seeing projects inspired by it so I wish you good luck going forward, but please be mindful.

Hiyo Third Half,

Thank you for checking out our game. I am not sure if you got to play it, but rest assured we do have you listed in the credits for 2D Artwork.  I had just wrote this long thing to deepshock and of course if you want me to remove your artwork, since I have you here, say the word and it'll be done. I have nothing set in stone at this phase of development. If you would like anything amended in the credits, or any other added exposure, such as a link to your portfolio/website, we would be more then happy to comply, and add it to our next update.

I understand and am sorry about not contacting you regarding the use of your artwork so you can see how it is being utilized, I dropped the ball on the networking thing here, and that was strictly because I am still building up, and fixing everything social media wise, before I turn to things like that for any further exposure while everything is still in a somewhat infantile stage.

My in house artist found your artwork, as it basically represented 'exactly' what I told him I wanted him to draw, and it allowed him to focus on the music instead of multitasking both simultaneously.  If this does get past these iterative concept phases, meaning there is interest in seeing it reach further development past our next scheduled updates, or enough of it is there that we could make a proposal to the IP holders, then it wouldn't be far fetched that we would contact you for further artwork, but that is quite a bit of a long road ahead, and there are a lot of IP permissions that would need to be gotten, since the original game and assets are split between several companies at this point in time, so a lot of research would need to be done to meet all those requirements.

Anyway, I hope you are not too upset, however, these are how concepts and prototypes are made in all studios, they are just not shown publicly, and this route nets you free exposure to your works as well, especially if the game ended up being popular, and if we did end up dropping the artwork in lieu of something else, but now it is evidenced that you did the stand in assets for the game, or keeping it in the game, because the public wanted us to keep it, that's what makes this way a bit more open and honest and better at networking for all of us who truly are fans of the works and want the game to be directed in the way the fans want it to go.

P.S: Hope you understand, and sorry about the full blown letter, it's just how I write. I'm a bit long winded.  And because I didn't write it above, we do like your artwork, I specifically like the Slayers artwork, I love Lina Inverse.  =)

Appreciate your getting back to me, no, I'm not terribly upset. It's clear you're starting out and figuring out how to network and such, and again, glad you like my work enough to find it an inspiration toward the direction you want to go in. It would probably be best in the long run, however to remove the assets and replace them with your own in forthcoming builds to help establish the unique voice and style of your team. For the time being, no need to rush taking things down or altering the credits or the like, just a link to my homepage at thirdhalf (dot) net and a mention off to the side or in the youtube trailer video description would be good as long as they're in there.  I figured it was just used as placeholder graphics (especially the Blue Lander that was done as a custom Twitch emote, text and all and I can't imagine a perpetual "Any Luck?" caption would look good otherwise on a finished product.)

In all honesty, I really do hate to call attention to things like this and didn't want to just automatically report the game because I love TGL and seeing fans willing to sit down and put something even remotely like it together is something I can't discourage. I wish you two the best of luck going forward and even though I can't guarantee I'll be free enough down the line for commissioning new pieces, odds are I'll still wind up streaming or otherwise sharing some future versions (not that I have a giant audience or anything!) Thank you for your time and appreciation, it's always nice to meet more TGL fans (and Slayers fans.)

Cheers!
