The art look nice, but the gameplay is kind of boring for me for both normal and quick.

I am not a chemist to be able to combine resources. I had to guess which works and that is a lot of time wasting honestly.

There maybe some little guides which I didn't pay attention to for the reason that every thing looks plain and not really interesting. But those planet arts looks beautiful.

As Oknodian says, the recipe card descriptions are a guide to what to pick to fully unlock them, without giving it away completely. 

I was going for a minimalist aesthetic as that is what I like best, but really wanted to add lots more animation to everything but didn’t have time.

How would you make it more interesting? I’m thinking of taking it further and expanding the gameplay etc.

Well if you ask me...

I would simply advice you to take a look at some example from mobile games or any application that you will first launch them. See how much they try to get you to use those application and think about how you can make your "game" or a simulation app attractive for impatient people.

Those may seems a lot to get done in 100 hours and this game has a lot of stuff. You would need to sacrifice those fancy animations to make the "game" more good looking.

And your "game" status is set to released which means it is a well done application.

Well, it is 'released' for sake of the game jam. I presume that the rules of the jam mean I can't continue to work on it whilst people are voting on it? I don't know how these things work really - it's my first jam!

Anyway, I'm going to leave this game as it is, and consider it a fully functioning prototype. If I do want to take it further and build on it, I'm going to make a new version from scratch with the game engine that I normally use and feel more confident with (Godot).
