What I liked
- You made this with Pygame. I explored this, but ended up choosing an engine rather than a library.
- Particles effects. They're simple, but fit visually.
- Respawning in the same room that you died in.
- It felt like you put thought into the layout and progression of the game based on powerup placements and the obstacles they disable.
Improvements/Suggestions
- One life is pretty brutal. I feel like a minimum of three hits is needed. As a player, one hit is usually used to assess the level/enemies/difficulty of what is ahead. If you didn't respawn in the same room, I probably wouldn't have played long.
- Controls felt really off, especially when you need to use the kick ability to make bigger jumps. If I had to make a long, vertical jump, i had to press three buttons simultaneously. That didn't really feel right.
Overall, you did a good job. Congrats on submitting!
