Ahhh I get you. Yeah you can just take a wide birth around the duck and just about stay on the stage. No setting change required - which is the way my brother completed the level. Took him ages to find the setting! I'm impressed you thought of it so easily though :)
Basically with 9 (To avoid you looking for a solution that isn't there ) - the bug is on a set path and there's a point which is not too far up the ramp, so you can just sit there and wait for him to come to you. You may have already realized that idk :D
