When did you download the game? Just now?

Yeah it would be difficult to fix the camera, it sort of only works one way. Might be possible though, I do also like the concept, but it's definitely super frustrating as is and still tempted to replace for now, maybe add back later. Cheers man :)

Make sure you extracted everything properly?  UnityPlayer.dll should be included :)

Yup I also hate this level. It's on the list of ones to replace but I prioritized the levels that everyone else hated the most 😂

I had ruled this out based on another screenshot where someone appeared to have their file extensions showing, and there was no .txt

I guess maybe only certain file extensions show?

Dang, I suspected it would be this but I had ruled it out! So people are actually naming their files "platformsettings.txt.txt" without realising, because their file extensions are hidden.

Hmmm, it appears maybe my "fix" is what did that. The same thing happened for me but I assumed it was just because it was running on a virtual machine. 

I've uploaded the old version. Could you download that and try the fix again?

I didn't actually realise the spacebar text was still there :'D

I don't really use Mac, but don't you just double click on it?

You may still need to allow the file in your preferences but there's nothing I can do about that on my end.

Are you on Windows? You should just be able to right click on the game and select "Run as Administrator". If not your account might not have Admin privileges

It should work now. You may need to allow it to run in System Preferences -> Security & Privacy still.

A few people have commented saying that the solution isn't working for them, and I'm trying to work out if it's a common issue or not. So even if it did work for you, could you let me know?

The solution is below

[Level 10 spoiler]

The solution to level 10 is to create a file in the same  folder as the executable or in the data folder and call it "platformsettings.txt", and then inside the file write "moving=true". The platform should now be moving. If you could also check:

- restarting the level once the file exists

- restarting the game once the file exists

-  you are not somehow putting the .txt file in the wrong location - for example, you extracted the game to two different places on your computer and have put the txt file in Downloads/ThatGameWindows rather than Documents/ThatGameWindows 

- "run as administrator" on windows 10 (right click the exe) - see if that makes a difference.

Any other details you can give me are also useful - when you downloaded the game, what OS you are on etc.

Thanks man, yeah I've known about this one for a while 😅 massacring is quite right I was leaving this as it fell under "badly made, but not game breaking". But I think upon seeing this post it's a good time to address it.

It's definitely an interesting challenge to fix this, I think I've figured out a way. Fix should be up today!

@mosterfurr - I feel so bad, I'm sorry for actually causing insult, I never thought for a second someone would take offense and that wasn't my objective! As I mentioned in my above reply, the only way I would ever dare to insult someone is if they knew 100% that I was just being over the top and not actually talking about them or describing them personally in any way. It was super lazy writing and tbh I didn't even think it was that funny, I just had to pump out an ending. With the "you haven't seen the channel?" Line Idk what I was thinking really. Maybe trying to roast myself a little by imagining a player who doesn't even know who I am? (I was imagining more people finding the video through itch.io). I knew at the time it didn't really make much sense but kept it in because I was pressed for time. Same thing with saying that it was a waste of time playing the game. 100% just self deprecating, but not really inspired comedy.

Just want you to know that in referencing the MC's appearance I was not trying to rip on people's appearances - I am ok with ripping on people who spend so much time at their computer that they look physically exhausted, because that's what I do 😄 but I don't feel embarrassed about my lifestyle and don't think anyone else should so I don't consider that an actual insult. and when I was designing him I wasn't even thinking about him looking "fat", the reason I chose those proportions was because I like compact, dense characters in games - just like chibi characters are not thin if you think about it and every south park character has the same proportions. In the same way I'm not trying to rip on people with big heads.

I'm really unhappy with the end scene dialogue now even knowing that there's a chance people might feel it's mean. and I'm going to change it straight away.

I was very unclear in the end, that one line was meant to be comparing the player to the MC's appearance not the big duck's weight, and I wanna be clear: there's absolutely nothing wrong with being "ugly" either - I love the way he looks or obviously I would have not designed him like that - in my mind he was sort of in that very haggard state because he spends so much time at his computer / has been out of sun so long he's literally shrivelled and grey, I was referring to his state of health being sort of tragic because he's a game dev. If anything I'm making fun of myself as well as the player here, but it's not very clear. I don't actually think of myself like that, nor do I actually imagine the player like that. The humour I was trying to go for was "I'll rip on the player, they will see that it's clearly a completely over the top, unfair criticism since obviously I don't know anything about them and have no right to comment, but they won't be able to fight back and will therefore find it funny."

When I was writing the dialogue lines there, not only was I REALLY short on time and super sleep deprived (a combination which maybe inevitably results in going for the low hanging fruit kind of humour 😄), but I was not thinking about an actual person at the other end of this, or trying to say anything real. When I say "When was the last time you went outside?" I'm also thinking about myself. I hadn't been outside in 2 weeks because of my lifestyle choices in making this game! so didn't even consider the fact that someone might ACTUALLY feel like I was talking about them or being serious with my roasts. In fact when I read the first comment of this thread I thought OP had had the desired response, being faux-insulted. I didn't realise until I just read all these comments today that people were actually taking offense, but I get it. The "you smell, have a bath" joke was also mostly thrown in there as well so that I could make reference to the rubber ducky.

All I wanna say is that it was a quickly written joke and while it may come off as mean-spirited, it was absolutely not meant with any hint of seriousness or judgment of someone's actual lifestyle. If I told someone to have a bath in real life, you can guarantee 100% that they do not smell and that they're a good friend, I would never want to actually offend anyone 😂 I will change it though, sorry all!

If your gamepad is not working, try these tips:

- Restart computer, unpair and repair controller (ie. actually remove it in your bluetooth settings). Make sure the player number light on your gamepad is lit up, if it's not, might not be properly connected.

- Don't open Steam, Steam is selfish and has its own way of dealing with Gamepads that basically involves screwing with the drivers so that no other games can work. If you have opened steam, you may have to restart your PC and not open it (also stop steam from opening automatically on startup).

- Avoid binding multiple controllers per reboot. Binding PS controllers can mess up Pro Controller drivers and vice versa.

- Pray to the great Button God

Unfortunately this is a bug with Unity and Pro Controllers. If you have one plugged in it will definitely be causing this, but even if you connect via Bluetooth it won't go back to being non buggy until you restart. There's also a bunch of other things which I found that cause this issue. One sec I'll find the link...

That's so weird! I just double checked and that SHOULD work. I guess it's maybe a quirk of Windows 11. I'll have a think. Maybe send you a special exe to test. Will update :)

Excellent game btw, you have my full respect as a fellow dev and sometimes artist.
You nailed vibes, inventiveness and difficulty (I still have a few bugs left to collect haha).
It was a very refreshing experience and I would feel extremely proud of myself if I made anything nearly as good as it.

Really really strange, it shouldn't be doing that at all, and I can't reproduce the problem with those steps! But still it does give me some clues, so thank you so so much for posting that info!

Based on that I've uploaded a new fix - fairly optimistic it should fix the problem...

Yeah this one is bloody confusing! I can't recreate it at all, and I want people to have a way of maximizing the window on the main menu if they minimize it. unfortunately the weird glitch happens.

Does it go away once you go into a level?

So I've just checked this out and I'm unclear what the problem is. The files all appear to be there, once you unzip it the game file is present. Could you explain the issue again?
