The big number thing is so true, I didn't think of it at the time, I just set the durability cost to be exactly the BPM (it made sense in my head), and then adjusted the number up and up instead of scaling it down to more manageable numbers.
There has been some very interesting games lately that use the rhythm (play to the beat) mechanic, such as BPM bullets per minute and Metal: Hellsinger, and those kinds of games can get so fun to play. I was addicted to crypt of the necrodancer for a long time, I've been wanting to play cadence of hyrule for the same reason. While I don't plan to make Uncadaveric a real game, as I've been just studying a lot lately and trying to come with different things until I feel confident enough for a bigger project (I'm basically just doing lots of game jams), I do want to make a rhythm game of sorts one day.
