Hi! In terms of weird controls, we tried to implement melee combat but had to give up on the idea as we were running short on time. So currently, this control scheme is  rudimental and needs to be remaped. We are going to address this issue today among other bugs like displaced crosshair.

well if you had another system planned that makes sense as to why shooting is a separate mode then i understand.
