Enjoying the metahumour and references to anime and the mecha genre. Things seem a bit still as there are little to no animations, but the visuals look nice and surreal. The movement controls feel fine to me, but the movement itself feels a bit weird in a way I can't put it, it appears the character also perpetually drifts while moving forwards, unless that is intended. I like the music, it gives that almost cheesy mecha anime vibe to me. I also like the usage of 3D space, a lot of mecha I see, they're usually flying around dodging projectiles and what not, but it seems like very few mecha games do that sorta thing.
I like when visual novels get infused with traditional gameplay, its cool
NEED HELP!
been trying for days to get the hot springs with rachel scene but keep getting the throne room ending instead
Some say there's an uncensored version where there's more than just a black screen ending...
:)
That was cool! My team had a similar idea to try and do a anime episode idea with our game too!
My only critique would be maybe to give feedback of some kind when you hold right click to shoot like zoom in the camera a little or maybe hide the aiming reticle till you do it!
You're totally right. The current shooting mechanic is completely pointless, haha :)
I might try to rework it after the jam ends.
The game is well made. But, controls can be improved. It would be great if there was some target locked system, (like the Aim cursor glowing or something). The visual novel aspect was appealing. Great Job!
Oh, you're right! The target lock system is an awesome idea! Thanks!
A fun time! I chuckled at all the anime references and had a fun time shooting enemies. As other said, some quirkiness with the shooting, but other than that the controls feel good! I liked the art and audio as well. Well done!
Thanks! Shooting is extremely awful here and needs to be revamped. I might get my hands on it after the jam ends. Oh might not... haha
I'm not very good at 3D games, so I struggled a little with the controls, but I did better than I thought I would. I got a few enemies down. It would have been cool to have some sort of warning when they came close to you from the back or side where you can't see. It was also hard to tell how close I had to be to kill them. Maybe if the target changed color or lit up in some way when you were within range it would be easier to know when to start shooting.
I really enjoyed the cut scene art! Felt a little bit like reading a graphic novel.
Thanks for your feedback! Sorry to hear the game came out too hard for you :( Although, shooting here is the main mechanic, it is indeed badly implemented.
Well, I've uploaded a full walkthrough video on the game's page, so you might get some tips on how to complete the game :)
Or you could skip to see other dialogue boxes, haha
Cool game! Hopefully, you can fix the bug where you die while reading the cutscenes.
Hi, Luke!
Thanks for reporting the issue! We've managed to resolve the problem. Now, it would be awesome if you could try it again :)
The game takes about 5 minutes to be completed. A little trick: to kill enemies faster, you can hold RMB then spam LMB (do not hold it, just press it rapidly).
Also, mouse sensitivity was decreased for convenience.
This is making me nostalgic for something I can't put my finger on...
Fun shooter but has a bit of an odd control scheme :/
The whole holding the alt key to shoot seems a bit like a strange choice, i feel it would have been better to have the player be able to either shoot directly or if you wish to keep a separate firing mode, the right click would have been a better choice i.m.o. The aiming reticle also seems to be a bit off center compared to where the shots go.
Now with that being said, the movement controls on the other hand are fine. I also really like the presentation, the mech model is nice and the environments look also prety good with a nice sense of scale, and the music is a banger as well ^^
You guys have a cool concept going here, with just a few fixes and polish to some of the rougher aspects you've got a solid game.
Good job to the team :)
Hi! In terms of weird controls, we tried to implement melee combat but had to give up on the idea as we were running short on time. So currently, this control scheme is rudimental and needs to be remaped. We are going to address this issue today among other bugs like displaced crosshair.
Thanks for your feedback!
No worries :)
well if you had another system planned that makes sense as to why shooting is a separate mode then i understand.
