Hi there. Are you using Windows 11, or have upgraded to Windows 11 by chance? If so, this is likely a backwards compatibility issue with Microsoft and the much older Itch.io version of Jav-It. You can get around this by running on a lower version of Windows, Using a VM to run Linux, or using the Patreon version which bypasses this issue.

I'm on Windows 10, latest patch. 

I'll try Linuxmint via VirtualBox on Windows 10.   Will advise what happens.

Additionally, for Windows you can try installing the latest visual C++ re-disputable. In some instances, Windows will have issues when this Microsoft library isn't up to date, yet it won't tell the user (in an obvious way) as such. Here is a link you can try:
