Yes, you definitely got the zest of the game. I was afraid the auto-translation was too obscure (I read obviously through it) but at last you understood what we wanted to convey. That's nice!
As of the motivation that drives the PCs through the exploration, I just answered @scopperil about it, and yes, it might be a problem which we will surely fix in a future version of the game. Indeed, we hope to refine and publish it, because all of these positive comments ^^
