Thank you so much for your kind words ^_^ I had a lot of fun coming up with ideas for it!

For animations I just used aseprite on a frame loop. I made sure each animation loop could be divisible by 3 so everything has a nice timing.

the character sprite in the top down scenes is 16x16 to make it work on a Gameboy resolution but in the side scrolling areas is 16x24 to allow more room for the messy hair to stand out and have character :)

Thanks for explaining that to me! It’s a great idea to create a twist with the Aesop fables. It will be fun to play your game. :)

I really like the look of the bigger sprite. I noticed some game developers use the same sprite perspective for both side-scroller and top-down, but others use a more realistic approach. It’s confusing about what perspective style to use.

Can you animate with more than 3 frames, for character animation states, in GB Studio 3.1? I think it was limited to 2 frames in the earlier version.

oh yes more then 3 frames is definitely possible :D

The hair looks great! :) You’re a pro-pixel hair stylist.

Your top-down sprites look super cute too! I love the kawaii style.

Thank you so much! I have a special love for top down style games :D

It looks like Repugnant Bounty has 3 frame animation loops. So it’s possible! https://skittlesfiddles.itch.io/repugnant-bounty-demo
