Hey, I just found out that you also use Arch! I made this game almost entirely on Arch. What screen reader do you use, is it Orca or something else? I tested it with NVDA on Windows only.
I played it with orca and it worked great. I also played it with Fenrir, which is a command line screen reader, and it also works. No problems with either one.
