I love that almost everything in this game can be investigated and interacted with, definitely sells a little boy talking to himself and having fun when nobody else is there to be there with him. The gameplay is a little stale though, as its mainly just finding a key.

Hello, thank you for playing my game and for your feedback!

The game was made in 3 days. To be able to deliver it in time, I decided to aim for a simple gameplay and put my work into writing dialogues and creating a friendly environment that can be fully explored. Once you have found the key, you can interact again with everything and you'll get new dialogues and informations on the characters and the family. I hope you'll give it a try!

I did not realize this, oof O.o Still, for three days that's quite a bit of detail. If you do add mechanics like that, I would recommend adding a subtle nod or something implying you can investigate stuff so that its a little clearer next time. I suppose the key telling you not to leave does that a little? But that's just my take.

I thought about adding a spark effect like in resident evil (and another GB game I made last month) but I wanted to let the player wander around in quiet and discover things by himself. Since there are no NPC's and going through the front door let the player understand he can investigate the environment, I thought he would end up investigate things. I did add subtle hints in dialogues like you said, I'm glad you saw that! I have already made a polish iteration for the dialogues, but I'll update the game after the Jam.

gotcha!
