This was a really interesting concept - unique take on a simulation game! The UI was tricky to figure out at first and I think there may be a bug blocking progression, but the overall idea kept me a bit hooked to keep trying!

Notes from gameplay:

not intuitive to figure out what i'm doing at first glance. I highlighted everything in green and now I have stacked play/fastforward pause buttons. Clicking one led to a game over with a score of 22

trying again, nice job with restart button

oh looks like the stacked buttons are still here. Refresh game page and restarted fresh, looks like it's a UI error or confusing UI design. Poking at it a bit and I've figured out they are different symbols for time speedup. Wary of that last one, I guess it ends the game.

can't seem to do anything, keep highlighting terrain and nothing happens

oh, i think i was paused?

this ? overlay is awesome

fight enemies? That'll be interesting

omg how do only 10 people eat this much food, hungries. I don't think the display is accurate or the counter is wrong. I'm on day 3 and down to 500 food. doesn't seem like time is progressing. it's set at x360 but still day 3.

Hearing planting noises but not always seeing a line update with more crops.

skipped day, everyone starved. Trying again...

how do I harvest...

this mouse cursor effect is pretty

score 21 in big, 22 in small

can't seem to figure out how to feed people :(

i just realized planting takes from my food resources as well, so I was basically planting myself to death

hmm another game other, score 29, but i had plenty of food

selection cuts into terrain on some parts of map

...is that flying cheese?

another game over, score 29, caught a glimpse of plants switch to grown before game over screen, looks like maybe a bug with that?

and game over again, score 30, as soon as plants matured

Thank you for such great feedback! I recognise that the UI was quite confusing for many. I will be iterating over all the feedback I have gotten from this jam in the next few weeks for a school project. Would you be interested in playtesting the game once I have developed it further? I would be grateful for your help and time because you feedback has been very useful!

Absolutely, just let me know when you want another playtest :)
