Jesus, get a grip! ๐Ÿ˜†

To answer one of you stupid questions since I lost interest in reading all of this nonsense. They had to change the plot of the game in week 3 because 1 and 2 violated Patreons terms by having blackmail as a plot point. And since the game is developed more for Patreon and less for this site, those are the rules Vi followed.

So chill out you raging psychopath.

(+2)(-2)

Why is it that so many creators conform to Patreon's tyranny? How many more games and visual novels will Patreon ruin because of their personal preferences that they impose on their users? What makes Patreon so needed that they can impose their unjustified terms on the creators anyway? Why do creators not refuse censorship of their creativity and found a new patronage platform?

Since you are so willing to offer advice, I feel obliged to return the favor to you and suggest you to actually think before you talk. Do you have any justification to call me a raging psychopath? I expressed reasonable points that I justified logically, I didn't throw a compilation of gratuitous insults. Moreover, I expressed my frustration that the protagonist suddenly and inexplicably was turned into a psychopath in week three therefore accusing me of being a psychopath can only be taken as a bad joke. ๐Ÿ˜

Cool

It's called "steady revenue". Having people drop money as a one-off on itch is nice, but you won't know how much money you will have open for the next month or the month after.

So unless you are willing to fork over enough on a regular basis to free them from the "tyranny" of patreon I suggest you to reconsider your stance.

(1 edit) (-2)

Hell no, quite the opposite actually, you are proving me right but you don't seem to understand your own stance therefore allow me to clarify:

Patreon pretends to support indie developers however both patrons and Patreon itself interfere in development, influence it and control it just like any publisher would do it and "indie" developers are no more indie if they work to please patrons and Patreon just like they would work for a publisher, this is Patreon's hypocrisy.

Aand don't get me started about Patreon's absolutely hypocrite censorship who forbids harmless things such as incest romance but is fine with rape and slavery. ๐Ÿ˜’

I lost count of how many promising games were wasted because Patreon's administrators single-handedly and arbitrarily decide what is allowed and what is not allowed in developer's works based on their own personal preferences as if developers were making games to please them above else. ๐Ÿ˜’

It is hard to respect developers who enslave themselves to a publisher who pretends to "support indie developers" when it really controls them and to patrons for the sole reason that they provide funding, once again just like any publisher would expect to be pleased because they provide funding.

Developers think that since patrons fund them then it is only fair that they make what their benefactors want.

But then, how is it any different than working for a publisher?

How can you still consider yourself "independent" if you let your patrons and even Patreon 's administrators dictate your development?

Patreon is actually no different than any publisher and corrupts indie development. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ

The worst part is that "indie" developers make themselves Patreon's obedient bitches, conforming to all of their absurd and hypocrite rules, and in doing so support Patreon's tyranny instead of boycotting it and forcing Patreon to surrender or die without developers.

Because that is the thing, you see, you speak as if developers have no choice but to surrender and conform to Patreon because they need Patreon but you forget that Patreon needs developers the same and that therefore developers could agree to unite and boycott Patreon to leave no choice to Patreon to survive than to surrender to developers' terms or die without developers to feed them.

That is what annoys me, you see, when people talk as if only one side needs the other and has to agree to their terms when actually both sides need each other and both sides can force their conditions on each other to cooperate in a common agreement instead of an absolute one-sided tyranny.

I can't respect neither Patreon neither developers who enslave themselves to them as long as it remains a tyranny, this is my stance.

And actually, what is Patreon exactly? I mean beside a publisher who use random people's money to fund and control developers while pretending to not be a publisher.

Patreon is a crowdfunding website just like Kickstarter and other crowdfunding websites, it is a website which makes people be able to give money to developers, actually anyone could create such a website so there is really no reason that everyone submits to Patreon's dictatorship and doesn't create an alternative, you only need a few promising developers and some advertising to start up a rival to Patreon, which is why I don't understand why no one has had the will to do so yet. ๐Ÿค”
