I Wish the game wouldn't freak out when I try to change back and forth between dragons. It only let's me switch dragons once. Btw, will there ever be a chance we could get the diaper system as an asset pack for Unity? I love how it functions. Maybe other indie devs could use it for their own diaper systems. Maybe improve it.

Right now I think unity is on the way out unless they do a 180 over this mess. I have been encouraging people not tied down to an existing project to Godot.

Releasing a pack like that would just encourage people to pick up a engine whose management sold just about all the good-will it built up for years in favor of sudden predatory license changes.

I guess that makes sense. They seem to be aware of their backlash, though, and might change their mind. We can only hope.

what about unreal engine 5? people have done some incredible things with it, but I'm not sure if there's anything else wrong with epic games other than releasing the abomination known as fortnite

(+1)

Indie devs that want to jumpship to Unreal over this mess haven't run the numbers. Unreal is far more expensive and it isn't as well suited for small time indie work on the side. Unity, monogame, GMS and Godot are better suited for that.

well ig I'll be adding godot back to my steam library, pretty much all pc gamers care more about high fps than hyper-realistic graphics anyways

they seem to have made some good changes recently to their previous plan. Did you read their open letter?

Yes, overall the changes were decent and it's good to see are finally getting rid of plus with the removal of the splash screen requirement for unity personal and doubling the amount you can earn before you need q plan.

Smalltime mobile devs were certainly targeted with the september changes and I completely get why they are still upset. I find it puzzling that there are still indie devs that actually want to jump to Unreal since their agreements have always been far worse then Unitys even with the September changes. Glad to see Godot picking up steam with this SNAFU.

So how goes development at this stage?

incredibly slow. work isn't letting up and I got hit with a 55 hour last week. There are a lot of new assets and a better codebase but we are looking at the end of the year to really put things together for a alpha 2.0 build

How bout the issues with changing dragons? Any idea what may be causing it?

Yeah, the scripting is jank and will be addressed in future builds. I am currenrly focusing some graphical and ai improvements for the sh engine when I am not busy with rl stuff and working 50 or so hours a week.

How did you get the diaper model? trade secret?

nah just basic 3d modeling work
