Meh, I understand... I went through this reason with Dev, Kamus, although he creates cool games that I had my eye on "Gremory Live and Shinigami Brothel" however through the vote on Pantreon he will always develop Sarada Training, even When the content of this game is complete, new scenes are added, while the other two games are always forgotten at the bottom!

"But what are you talking about sacred frames and chess being mandatory to continue to next chapter? Are they not optional bonus content?" Yes, I finished the 4 chapters of this game yesterday and today and the problem here is that you have to stay Keep an eye on the scenes where some icons and you have to click and collect "Sacred Flames" along with status, it's a boring minigame and to release the next chapter, otherwise you are forced to repeat the entire previous chapter to release the next one. Lucky for me, the guys from the f95zone forum community made the chapter cheats available and just by typing it in you can release everything and be able to just focus on the story.

"You're being too hard on Issei because although I agree with you that he's insufferable in the anime..."  I'm sorry if it seemed like that but it's reality, I liked Issei when I watched DXD when the anime was released in mid-2012. However, time passed and passed, my mentality changed and when I rewatched DxD again until the third season, I asked myself how Could I like such a stupid character?

It got even worse when I decided to read the light novels due to the failure of the animation that started in the third season and continued until the fourth season. I didn't like how Issei grew in the work and developed, his development didn't come from his point of him, he was simply a lazy asshole who received help from everyone.

Even at this point, I prefer Vali Lucifer but he was a cold bastard that sometimes I didn't like. Anyway, Issei's development was something I couldn't stand, and it got to the point that I continued reading the Novel just because of the girls who were my Waifu.

"And after all the character development and relationship building in the anime, don't you mind that the girls who were in love with Issei were having sex with a random stranger?" Nah, it was better than seeing Issei who was a big pervert but at the H-time, he weakened and that's why I never considered a harem king like "Basara from shin maou no testament and Arata from Monogatari".

"If there was at least relationship building to justify girls getting close to this new character, could I accept it if Issei was dead and genuine love grew with the new character?" I would even recommend Kamus' "Gremory Live", what a cool little game. In this game, Issei is killed in the last confrontation, and you play with a character that can be one of 3 races, demon, human or angel... take it from me, choose angel, it's funny and tense at the same time , your relationship with Rias. After all, in the last holy battle you almost died the same one that Issei died, and was rescued by Rias... biggest plot twist "if you are an angel", and also Mc has sacred gear that every time he dies it activates the balance break and it's crazy come back to life xD! The only problem with this game is Patreon dictating through polls what Dev should continue developing or not!

"But this isn't the anime, it's an adult visual novel, which means your perversion will no longer be censored with grotesque comedy relief" yes, I was scared of playing this game but I gave it a chance and found it acceptable, due to the fact that I can change the MC's name, and I can also make choices making Issei less Simp!

"About the sex scenes in Devil's Academy here, I like them, but it bothers me that they happen between chapters and are not included in the actual story because each chapter starts right where the previous chapter left off, which implies that the scenes in between the content didn't actually happen." Yes, I was also really bothered by the scenes between the chapters, as if it were a small special that had no impact on the story in general.

Oh, true! I just started a new game and skipped everything just to check if I could advance to next chapter and I couldn't because it indeed told me that I had to unlock every sacred frame and chess, I had no idea they were mandatory because I always did it on my own before trying next chapter, sacred frames are easy, just click on highlighted things during the story, as for unlocking the chess, it is more complicated because you have to take note of numbers or characters to compose a code, it's not that hard either.

I played every chess puzzle in the first two chapters but it quickly grew tedious and I stopped bothering from the third chapter however I still unlocked the board to earn the drop of power.

Then you don't really hate Issei, you are frustrated by the fact that you ever appreciated him because you feel ashamed to have done so, your disgust is actually directed towards yourself.

The same happens to me all the time whenever I try to replay or rewatch something that I used to love, I realize that I don't like it anymore because I evolved and my tastes evolved with myself.

For example, I really enjoyed playing Undertale when it was released and I considered it my favorite game for years... until I replayed it and couldn't stand its childish naivety anymore, everyone is too kind and becomes friends forever too easily, I realized that Undertale is really not as deep as everyone claims it to be, it is actually superficial as if it doesn't dare to be too serious and wants to stay light-hearted, exactly like animes "for all public", I couldn't find myself in this childish game that I used to love anymore so I stopped playing it and got rid of it.

This is only one example but the same thing happened with MANY other things because life is just like a RPG in the sense of as we experience things, we learn and we evolve, our perception of the world evolves and our tastes evolve as well, there are many things that I used to enjoy and that I can't stand anymore because I am no more the same as I used to be.

This is what happened to you with DxD, when you first watched it, you enjoyed it, and then, when you watched it years later, you were no more the same as you were the first time and you couldn't stand it anymore, this is not Issei's fault, this is your evolution, you are just no more compatibles, that's all. πŸ˜‰

Ah, yes, I so feel you, pal, I can't stand it either when the so-called hero can't do anything by himself and everyone rushes to his help, that's why I can't stand Harry Potter, because this "chosen one" never succeeds anything by himself, he is just spoiled by everyone and ridiculously lucky because J.K.Rowling designed the universe to go Harry Potter's way, for example he didn't defeat Voldemort because of his skills, he was just protected by his mother's sacrifice without him having to lift a finger for it, then he was saved by Dumbledore's phoenix, then he was lucky that his wand contained the other feather from the same phoenix as Voldemort's, once again without him having to lift a finger for it, then he was saved by the Order of Phoenix, then he was secretly protected by Severus Snape, then he was saved by Narcissa Malfoy because she couldn't wait to go to Hogwarts to find her son (which doesn't explain why Harry Potter had to be alive for that), then Voldemort's own death spell returned against himself because his wand acknowledged Harry Potter as its true master, Lord Voldemort was actually killed by his own wand without the "chosen-one" Harry Potter having to lift a finger to defeat him, that is just ridiculous how luck is always on Harry Potter's side, which ruins his credibility as a hero because he never achieves anything by himself, everyone rushes to his help and even the universe spoils him, he is nothing but a spoiled lucky brat, I can't stand him! And that goes for every so-called "hero" who doesn't actually achieve anything by themselves but are just ridiculously lucky or/and spoiled by everyone around them!

Ahem, sorry, I got carried away here, anyway I understand your disgust for "heroes" who don't achieve anything by themselves and are nothing but spoiled lucky brats who are spoiled by everyone around them and you don't feel that they deserve it.

I'm sorry but I have to stop your delusions here, they are not your waifus (Damn, I hate this word, it always sounds like "I am a desperate otaku who fantasizes on anime girls who don't care about me!") unless you identify yourself as Issei because they are Issei's lovers therefore in order to imagine yourself as their lover then you have to identify yourself to THEIR lover who is Issei, they don't love YOU, they love ISSEI, so if you want them to love you, you have to be Issei, that is how it works and that is why I prefer games over animes and mangas (I don't like animes and mangas anymore anyway. 😏), because in games I get to control and really be the protagonist whereas in animes and mangas, I only get to watch him without any influence on him, he doesn't care about what I want, and therefore I am not as close to him as I would be as a playable character. 😏

THIS is exactly why this adult visual novel exists in the first place, because Issei is an obsessive pervert who spends all his time fantasizing about sex but chickens out every time an actual opportunity presents itself all for the sake of remaining "for all public" and not turn into hentai, this is all authors' hypocrisy's fault that they design pervert characters but don't dare to actually making sex happen, characters are victims of their designers' hypocrisy, and japanese designers are incredibly cowards and hypocrite, that's why I was an otaku for a few years when I discovered that animes were not only what we see on TV and that there are many more that I was not aware of but after a few years of intensively watching animes, I eventually grew sick of it, they become all the same when you watch many because japanese authors actually have no imagination, they copy each other and stick to the same patterns again and again, also they are insufferably hypocrite because they don't dare to show what they actually want to show and offer nothing but bland "for all public" stuff, also you could believe that life stops once you graduate because almost all of their stories happen in schools as if nothing ever happens outside of schools, I eventually grew sick of all this non-sense and I stopped being an otaku years ago and I pity otakus now because they don't realize that they are manipulated by hypocrites without imagination.

Oups, I got carried away again, anyway what I wanted you to understand is that Issei chickens out of every actual opportunity to fulfill his fantasies because of the authors' cowardice and hypocrisy who are scared to lose their "for all public" status and lose money because of it but since this visual novel is designed for adults then the author doesn't care about "for all public" status and censorship and therefore they will NOT make Issei chicken out of actual action like a pathetic coward in the anime, here he will ACTUALLY seize opportunities because here is not one of those "for all public" garbage! πŸ˜‰

I assume that you are an otaku since you use their ridiculous words and therefore I assume that you also watched Kono Subarashii Sekai, the anime where a hikkikomori named Kazuma dies and is sent to an isekai (sigh, isekai too are lack of imagination) along with the goddess Aqua and forms a team with the crimson demon girl obsessed with explosion magic Megumi and the masochist paladin blonde girl Darkness? I hated Kazuma in the anime because he claimed that he is not like all those harem animes' protagonists who chicken out of opportunities and what did he do? He chickened out of opportunities even though he got the nerve to mock other harem animes' protagonists, he is just the same and this hypocrisy really got on my nerves! Then I discovered this: https://pastryirl.itch.io/adventurer-trainer

THIS is exactly what I wanted, an adult version of the "for all public" bullshit where things ACTUALLY happen and Kazuma is not a pathetic hypocrite coward who mocks other harem animes' protagonists but is no better himself. I assume that you can't stand Kazuma just as much as you can't stand Issei for the same pathetic hypocrisy and cowardice, right? Then play Adventurer Trainer even if you play as Kazuma and discover how much a character can be different when he is designed by another designer. Then maybe you will reconsider giving a fair chance to a new version of Issei. πŸ˜‰

Thank you for your recommendation, I really appreciate that you want to share what you think I might enjoy, however considering what you told me, I don't want to play a game by a developer who does whatever his patrons want, I can't respect such developers who lack will to make what THEY want to make. By the way, did I mention how MUCH I despise Patreon already and am disappointed that so many creators enslave themselves to it? πŸ˜πŸ˜‰

Developers think that since patrons fund them then it is only fair that they make what their benefactors want. But then, how is it any different than working for a publisher? How can you still consider yourself "independent" if you let your patrons dictate your development? That's why I can't stand Patreon, it is actually no different than any publisher and corrupts indie development. 😣

See? You already noticed that Issei is different in this adult visual novel than he is in the anime and this is only the beginning. πŸ˜‰

Unfortunately, in chapter 4, everyone calls you Issei and doesn't use your own name, which really broke the immersion for me, I think Naitoh forgot to script the use of the player's name. 😟

I know, right?! I disliked to lose my virginity to a random irrelevant girl who summoned me to fuck her for a contract instead of a meaningful girl such as one of the Occult Research Club and I couldn't believe that Koneko gave me a blowjob for no reason but I was happy when Akeno trained my focus, teased me and jerked me off on her face and breasts and when Rias gave me a titjob to relax me after a contract because I was thinking "YES! We ACTUALLY do things as opposite to that frustrating anime which offers nothing but teasing and blue-balling, I'm happy! πŸ˜†", then I started the next chapter and it resumed the story exactly where it left off at the previous chapter and so I was like "Wait, what? I am still when I was at the end of the previous chapter? Then everything I did between the chapters doesn't count? It didn't actually happen? NOOOOOOOOOOO! 😭", I really hate that all of the in-between chapters content is not part of the actual story because then it is irrelevant, it didn't actually happen, which frustrates me! 😣

Even though I don't agree with most of the things said here about Issei, it's complicated. I'm the type of person who, when I dislike something, rarely go back to liking it again. But I agree with the Patron situation and other things.

About Adventurer Trainer "parody of Konosuba!" Man, Konosuba for me has always been that anime that doesn't stink or smell. I watched the first season years ago, I didn't really like it because the whole story revolved around Kazuma's cringe comedy. It's deplorable to see how Kazuma was portrayed in the anime. and for me, as an Isekai lover, it was a serious offense, even so, watching the anime to kill time and because I had nothing else to watch.

So, I currently played Adventure Trainer, I'm actually surprised how the game got a makeover, when I played it in the middle of last year, I don't know which version... Kazuma wasn't the MC, the Player and Kazuma die. and the two of you go to the afterlife, and the goddess "I forgot my name" makes a change, Kazuma asks to go back to his NEET life, he returns as the player to current Japan, and when you embody Kazuma's body in Axel. Anyway, that was the plot of the game months ago, but it looks like they removed it. If you had played it, you probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did. Taste is a very personal thing! When I started playing again, I was a little disappointed to have this removed but it's still a good game, after all the player has choices on how he can build Kazuma at his discretion, a big loser virgin or that badass panty stealer lol

What I like most about these porn parody VNs is the fact that the player should not follow the same line of reasoning as the original work, taking the example of Adventure Trainer, and another game that is "Legacy Of Hestia, by Winterfire" which is nothing more than a porn parody of Danmachi, an anime I watched years ago but couldn't stand the MC's weak personality. despite not knowing anything about Danmachi, the game is explanatory and intuitive, as it retells the LN events but with the player in control. The only problem with this game is that it's not harem. It's a girl by playthrough. so you should play more often if you want to follow other routes.

now and just wait for new chapters of the DXD game, you'll know when, the game has been without news for a few months.

From the moment Kazuma had the hypocrisy to mock other harem animes' protagonists and be the same, it was over for me, I couldn't respect him anymore. I find him definitely more interesting in Adventurer Trainer. And you're right that I wouldn't have enjoyed playing as a random stranger instead of Kazuma, I'm so glad I discovered the game after it was redesigned, my first impression would have been bad otherwise! πŸ˜… I enjoy playing as Kazuma because it is a sweet revenge on the anime who frustrated me to play as an alternative better version of its own protagonist, it feels as if you say fuck off to the anime because it censored its own characters but here they are free to be their real selves and that feels liberating and much more enjoyable than to introduce a random stranger! πŸ˜†

Original Kazuma's cringe comedy is common to all "for all public" anime characters, I despised Kazuma specifically because he acknowledged this pattern and mocked it whereas he sticks to it as well but it is unfair to despise him for this pattern when they all are the same, if you despise Kazuma (and Issei) then you despise all harem animes' protagonists because they are all the same actually.

"You watched it because you had nothing else to watch"?!? Oh come on! When I watched animes, I always had TOO MANY to watch, there are THOUSANDS OF THOUSANDS of animes, they are a never-stopping industry, they are mass-produced in japanese factories called studios! You don't enjoy watching an anime? No problem, find another to watch among the THOUSANDS OF THOUSANDS of already existing animes!

Unless you are a mainstreamer, that is, someone who pays attention only to what everyone talks about, only to what is popular, who follows the "mainstream" and never adventures to uncharted territories? 😏

Tastes are born from experiences and can be explained and understood, they are not a mystical incomprehensible personal mystery that we have no control over. πŸ˜‰

I played Overlord H from WinterFire and I disliked the fact that he stuck too much to the original character even though he actually has sex with his harem as opposite to the original character who rejects every girl (which infuriated me! 😣), he is the same pragmatic who never does anything without a purpose, he just doesn't know how to genuinely enjoy himself without ulterior motives, which makes him pathetic, but what makes him even more pathetic is that he is obsessed with finding his guild-mates who abandoned him and their guild like a lost puppy who can't get over his abandonment, he is so pathetic that he makes me feel physically sick. I bitterly regret that WinterFire stuck too much to the original pathetic character but I wouldn't have enjoyed playing a random stranger because I would feel out of place and he impressed me because he imagined his own storylines for characters who are quickly got rid of in the anime, for examples Clementine who the original protagonist kills at first encounter, he gave a choice to spare her and invented by himself a new storyline which includes her to the end even though the anime introduces her and gets rid of her in a single episode, the same goes for Arche that once again the original protagonist kills without any mercy and pointlessly wastes a life, once again the anime introduces her and gets rid of her in a single episode, until WinterFire gave a choice to spare her and invented by himself a new storyline which includes her to the end, that really impresses me that he invents by himself consistent new storylines to include changes made by players, new entire storylines for characters who barely have any in the original (bland) version of the story and that he does so in a way that everything remains consistent, he doesn't break the story's consistency, if anything, he IMPROVES it! Naitoh should learn from him when the moment to kill Raynare will come, if it was WinterFire, he would give a choice to spare her and invent by himself a new storyline to include her into the story to the end, probably she would gradually grow to genuinely love Issei and feel guilty for how she treated him and she would repent, which could be an amazing turn of the story since Issei was traumatized by her, that would be meaningful if they reconcile! πŸ˜† But this is not WinterFire and I don't know how much Naitoh will dare to diverge from the original story to offer new possibilities?

I actually appreciated Bell much more than I did Kazuma because at least HE was not hypocrite! I can't wait for WinterFire to complete his game, I have been waiting for it to be complete to play it!

There are so many animes which deserve an adult game version, another example which comes to my mind is Campione! The harem anime in which the protagonist is a god-slayer surrounded by loving girls and does nothing with them because "for all public", the anime shows even a scene in which he kisses a girl so forcefully that her mouth bleeds and after that she caresses her belly saying that she feels his love inside her which makes it obvious that they actually had sex and the anime censored it into a kiss, her bleeding was her hymen breaking and we all know what he released inside of her womb, this is one more anime which frustrated me because of its cursed "for all public" censorship which deserves an adult game version to get rid of the censorship and offer new possibilities. And there are so many more! Basically all harem animes ever made. 😏

Wait WHAT?!? WinterFire made it EXCLUSIVE?!? NO HAREM OPTION?!? WHAT THE FUCK?!? Since when WinterFire is anti-harem?!? Since when does he force us to choose one and exclude others?!? FUCK THIS MONOGAMOUS BULLSHIT! If what you say is true and that he tries to force exclusive relationships, then I won't even bother playing his game if I will have to exclude girls that I want! I don't play games which force exclusive relationships, I leave them to people dumb enough to believe that monogamy actually works. Damn it! I am SOOOOOO disappointed now!!! 😣

I noticed that every version of DxD has been released with 6 months between them so I logically assume that every new version is released every 6 months and since the current version was released in June 2023 then I assume that the next version will be released in December 2023. πŸ€”

It's really a matter of taste, it's a mandatory thing. anyway, about Kazuma... mah, his only problem is the history he has as an otaku loser before being isekaid in Axel's world, all for the sake of comedy. I didn't like the Adventure Trainer redesign, but I did like the reboot of the story "Kazuma in debt stratospheric, just because he saved the city from making the Destroyer explode in a nobleman's house", it's still ridiculous to see how unlucky the guy can be in his own luck.

Anyway, depending on the choices the player makes that have the greatest influence on Kazuma's actions, it is acceptable to play! I didn't want a porn game that was just a scary comedy with no character development. But either way, as long as there are options and routes for me to choose from in Adventure Trainer, I'll keep playing!

β€œI played Overlord H from WinterFire and I didn't like the fact that he was too attached to the original character, even though he actually has sex with his harem.” I also played that game, Overlord remains the best isekai work for me, but whatever. at the beginning of the game, I may be traveling now... Ainz, finds a ring that allows him to return to human form and go through these perverted adventures but that was a long time ago, when I tried to return to the game all this content was removed, which led me to abandon the game, because that's exactly what you explained. Winterfire was too focused on making Ainz faithful, ignoring everything else. If you hadn't told me I wouldn't have known about this "Clementine's choice option" Death o Alive. the idea is good, I don't know if Naitoh can bring this to Devil's Academy DxD with Reynare in question. mah, even if Dev lets the players decide Raynare's future, I'd kill that bitch without a second thought. despite Issei being a great simpleton of a woman who only thinks with her head. Even so, he deserved all the suffering he sought from the Suahshs. but I didn't like the fact that Raynare killed Asia. Like I said before, once I don't like a certain character, I rarely like them again.

"Wait what?!? WinterFire made it EXCLUSIVE?!? NO HAREM OPTION?!? WHAT THE FUCK?!? Since when is WinterFire anti-harem?!? Since when does it make us choose one and exclude others?!?"    That's not the point, from what little I know about Danmachi's β€œgame-based knowledge”, Danmachi has everything it takes to be a harem. however, the problem is rooted in MC "Bell". in the original work it is shown that Bell has a somewhat blind love at first sight for Ainz Wallenstein. Bell has that Harem hating tag, he would hate himself to be selfish and make a girl sad. He's too prudish for my taste. so that's how Winterfire developed the game, of course here in this VN the player has the chance to pick up another girl. As I'm doing on my main route... I took Hestia as a companion, after all, I never liked Bell's personality, much less Ainz. She was one of the most expressionless girls in the game, she was beautiful but her personality was apathetic. Anyway, that's it... the game doesn't force you to choose a girl, you can beat the game if you want without choosing a girl if you want. but the key point of the game is to make Bell an atypical character. he could be a chicken, or he could be more of a steel ball, it will depend on the player.

Anyway, I don't think the problem is with Winterfire, since his last game "Overlord" was with a Harem theme, and in Legacy of Hestia he wanted to bring something different, "One girl per route" If I'm not mistaken, there are some routes "Like Demeter, Eina, Liruca and Hestia" there should probably be more. and if I'm not mistaken, there's a way for Bell to get two different girls, in this case Hestia and Liliruca, in which case I don't think it should even be considered Harem. but I'm not sure how to do that, the game walkthrough is for Patron only, but it's still an amazing game.

Either way, I recommend you play it. the game has over 15 hours of gameplay, and it looks like Winterfire wants to make a Legacy of Hestia 2, continuing where the first one ends.

So... Devil's Academy DxD receive 2 updates this year? meh, that's annoying, but I don't blame! I've seen games only receive one update per year! :(

Concluding here, I recommend you keep an eye on the game threads in development, on the F95zone forum and community, Winterfire has the idea of launching a DxD VN with the core of the game being Harem.

Excuse me to ask this but I have to ask did you drink alcohol or something since your previous message? Because your last message was a lot less easy to read, it was confused and incoherent as if you were drunk, is that the case? πŸ€”

No, I'm not drunk or anything. I'm Brazilian, and English is not my native language, Brazilian Portuguese is. Anyway, sorry for the inconsistency, I have to speak in English to the best of my abilities xD!

(+1)

And I'm french so english is not our native language to either of us. πŸ˜‰

Anyway I asked this because your speech was different in your last message while all of your previous messages were perfectly clear so I was wondering why is it that your last message is different than the others, you see?
