I also implemented a Windows-esque maze for my penultimate jam. '90s aesthetic always gets me. The smiley and the crude microphone recorded voice could be further used for a more complex narrative experience. There's also room to implement a recursive backwards algorithm so a new maze is generated every time (you can see it at my game, also have the code inside de .zip). It's a pity that the maze seemed to break (I fell) but had no way to get up again; was that intended?

cool I'll definitely take a look at it. The falling through the stage intended, after a few seconds it will continue, however if it doesn't transition after then something might have broken within the game, hasn't happened to me yet tho :o
