Hey thanks for playing! I have just been and watched the VOD of your stream to see how it went.

There is a lot we unfortunately werent able to include as this was the first game myself (coder) or the artist had ever made and time constraints meant we just couldnt get there after learning so much to get it in a playable state.

We do intend to take this further and make multiple levels and boss fights and with how much people enjoy it we may leave it on an endless loop even then. The intention is that the weapons are cumulative and a bit of work needs to happen on that.

Spices although different dont display with the correct sprite which I have since corrected so in the future you will be able to tell the difference as well as having the name under each one.

I agree hammering the spacebar isnt great, this minigame works really well on controller but on keyboard I think I need to make some changes so thank you for bringing up that point its really valuable.

Really appreciate your time playing and giving feedback!

I have really enjoyed my time with this.

The controls are nice, I really like the slightly floaty feel, it gives it distinct character without being annoying.

The building of a body is a nice different concept.

The artwork is absolutely beautiful, the colour palette is pleasing and the parallax scrolling is extremely well done and love the effect at the top of the screen too.

The cool graphical representation of adding the runes to the body parts is really nice.

Seriously fantastic.

This is great fun! Good bit of humour in the intro too.

The sound is really nice and clear.

Controls feel good.

Concept is really good fun.

Expanding the puzzles giving you different shapes and things would be a great continuation of this.

Really enjoyed it!

Thank you very much I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you for the kind words.

I hadnt seen/tested for a couple of those bugs so thank you I will add them to my list to try and fix.

Appreciate all the encouragement and the aim is to continue to refine and expand this project.

I'm glad the childish joke has amused so many people.

As soon as Alchemy was in the running for a choice we came up for the premise to this game and have had a lot of fun with the concept. Trying to add something unique to such a well established genre such as Streets of Rage would be hard and we knew we wouldnt have the time or experience to make the combat as satisfying as that game so we felt our weapon crafting would be a nice twist along with the pseudo-3D effect of scaling the characters relevant to their Y value.

Thanks again for the constructive comments it will help us moving forward and encouraging to hear when people have enjoyed aspects of what we have made.

Thank you for taking the time to comment it is really appreciated.

Yes the menacing enemies didnt get their arms and weapons attached to them due to time management on my part.

We do plan to get this to a more playable state with arms and sausage rolls intact as well as a few levels and a boss fight.

Thank you again for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed what we managed to create.

This is really good fun so far. I want to keep playing to find out whats going on with the shadowy guys and see where it goes.

The gameplay loop is quite fun and you can always add more obstacles and tasks as you go.

I like the scarcity of items making you be careful what you pick up and drop.

Maybe a water scarceness would work where when the barrel is empty you have to go press a water pump to fill it back up?

The only other suggestion I might have if you wanted something else you needed to keep in mind is maybe having multiple customers in sometime and having a countdown for how long until you serve them like you do with them waiting for the potion? Only vague ideas but I like what you have!

The graphics are cute and overall you did really well in the time limit especially as it includes a story and some cut scenes too.

This is a fantastic concept and really well executed.

I love the need to balance risk and reward for the ingredients and it implements both themes mechanically.

Really great.

Really neat game. Good fun concept in both story and game mechanics.

Being British..... Title instantly grabbed my attention.

I totally agree.

We need to spend more time on the control settings and also make them customisable.

Thank you for the feedback.

Thank you. The characters were actually hand drawn on paper.

Ah, I think I know why that happens. Dam I didnt test that. Thank you!

Due to time constraints and it being our first game we ran out of time to fix the following:

  • Enemy arms and weapons.
  • Spice sprites (most look the same)
  • Text and graphic positions.

We plan to continue development until this becomes what we initially set out to make. This will include:

  • Multiple levels
  • Bosses
  • Unique boss drops
  • THINGS WORKING!
  • Hats!

This is seriously great fun!

Had a few fat-finger moments pressing the wrong buttons leading to hilarious outcomes!

Will definitely come back to this!

This is really good fun. The art style and sounds hit a sweet spot for me that I really enjoyed.

I like the wand configuration mechanic with the different directions.

Really enjoyable!

We plan to continue development of this game to get it to the state we first envision.

Top of our list is to fix the game-altering bugs as follows:

  • Pressing Weapon Switch on Menu crashing the game.
  • Initial spice selection being empty.
  • Weapon not automatically selecting when you enter the level.
  • Enemies missing Arm and Sausage Roll weapon preventing player from taking damage.
  • Special attack raining Ribs down across the screen dealing damage to enemies.

At this time we will also neaten up a few things like the misaligned text and the enchanting scene having the selected meat weapon displaced.

After this the plans will include, but not limited to the following:

  • Spice names in inventory / selection screen with more spice sprites (currently only 3 sprites for 16 spices)
  • Multiple levels to propel the story of Starr's quest to take down the shadow corporation.
  • Boss fights with attack patterns.
  • Boss-Specific meat weapons to craft once defeated.
  • Hats and armour to make Starr look epic.
  • Spice library to show any you have ever picked up.
  • Enemy varieties including elites and ranged attacks.

Other suggestions or bug reports are welcome!

Thank you for the response!

Yes there was an issue with the enemy arms and weapons I ran out of time fixing.

They drop multiple spices but only 3 sprites are used and it repeats the same. There should have been names but I didnt get there.

The position of the spice is an odd one and I added it to my list to fix thank you.

The aim is to eventually expand it and have things more apparent and explained. The minigames buff the stats from the spices.

Also not hard-coded in HTML5. I used GameMaker and used the HTML5 export which threw up new challenges.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. It will definitely be used when we continue the development.

This is a really clever idea and works really well.

I like the idea and the clever combinations.

Also ferret instant +1

It is ridiculous that you managed this. I love it!

I could play this for ages!

Really good fun idea.

I like the concept and love the style.

This is really fun!

I like that you have to balance your movement and aiming rather than being able to just run backwards while firing. It stops it just being a circle-strafe exercise and takes more thought.

The upgrades are fun and compelling.

Thank you. Really appreciate the kind words!

Thank you for the kind words. I am actually really happy with the blend of the graphics. With a lot more time I think it has the chance to feel a lot better but I am so happy to hear you had fun with it.

Really clever I like this!

This is fantastic!

Really great fun! Excellent music.

Really like the parallax scrolling

Just gave it a go. Try the Escape key. Sorry should have added better instructions.

There is meant to be stuff to select but it started messing up generating it on the first attempt.

Does pressing the start button or keyboard equivelant not take you further?
