Great game! Looking forward to future updates

the jam could use a big queer colorful banner! using the fediverse logo colours

  • Embedded dark mode!
  • Downloadable epub and PDF versions.
  • Actually play testing it ^_^;
  • Adding many more states

thanks!!

Regarding running 2.0 on Linux. On Debian we had to do a few things:

  • Install the packages onnxruntime libsdl2-2.0-0 libfreetype6 libharfbuzz0b
  • Make a libsdl link: sudo ln -s /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libSDL2-2.0.so.0 /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libSDL2.so

Now it runs, but! There’s still an issue with fonts. No text at all shows up in the interface, making it pretty unusable, unfortunately. We’re sticking with 1.4 for the time being.

We made a zine for World ME/cfs Day (cw: very sad!) https://aldercone.itch.io/help-me-zine-for-world-me-day-2023

and we made a TTRPG one page that’s a zine too (cw: very fun! lol) https://aldercone.itch.io/aaa-transit-service

This one I really liked how it turned out because I themed it like an instruction manual, which worked great for the theme of it!

Right back at you! Thank you for reading and commenting <3

💤 can relate

Interesting! It should not be an issue with python per se, since it should ship with everything it needs to run. If you’re not averse, could you share more details of your setup and the steps you took with me in an email? cassowary at aldercone dot studio Thanks!

We’ll take a look at it, sorry you’re having problems with it!

Those are known bugs unfortunately, but we definitely have future plans for the game! Thanks for testing it out and for all your feedback! :)

Thanks for posting a comment about this. I believe this is due to opengl32.dll not being available. We'll take a look and update it.

I really love this concept! The presentation is pretty great too.

Very cute little game. It'd be neat if the expression on the egg changed when it was going too fast and would shatter and similar. Overall very cool.

Pretty cute. The last level was really hard.

Thanks! We have lots of ideas

thanks!

I'll check yours out! Here's ours https://itch.io/jam/mini-jam-87-break/rate/1169554

I'm terrible at platformers but I like this idea! A really nice colour palette to go with the relaxing pace and chill music would be development. Great choice of music

This was lovely, i would enjoy a polished version of it very much.

Kinda seems like emotional violence, but it's sorta funny. I did strictly enjoy chasing down couples and spoiling their day lol I would have liked arrows as the controls.

Got to 950 on the second time after barely 100 in my first play through lol

Great presentation. Linux build works good!

Thanks for playing and commenting! We have more monsters but they didn't make it into the first build. We definitely have more plans in store for it, including a lot more feedback from the monsters

I'm not great at platformers but this was very charming. I liked the objects being potentially helpful or hindering

Pretty cool concept! I love where this could go as a sort of stealth escape game. Works good on Linux.

Hi! Just so you know the Linux binary has the Windows exe in it, although it works great in Wine in any case! I see that it's pygame, which building system did you use? Anyway great work!

As a sometimes antisocial cactus in human form, I enjoyed this very much!

Hi! I'm happy to report we have likely fixed the bug you were experiencing, and also made the fit and finish a bit more user friendly. We've updated the download instructions with how to install ManyNames much more conveniently.

We've noticed some issues with the glibc abi being different between linuces and so it doesn't seem to run on them; We're working on getting a flatpak put together to hopefully alleviate this problem on linux! Stay tuned it should be this week.

Thank you! We have plans for future updates that will expand the gameplay, and also fix up the UI and such. We hope you'll like those!
